Dog Door in Panel Blind

I've got a Tanglefree panel blind and would like to cut/sew a dog door in it so my dog can be in the blind with me and be able to mark birds. Seems like it would be doable, just a little nervous to cut into something that wasn't cheap without a solid plan. Has anyone ever done this?

Just utilize a doggy door that uses the magnetic bottom use the top piece and the bottom piece if you would like it to be more flexible instead of the whole frame where it would be more rigid.
