So we get 3.6% increase in SS. Government takes back (I forget) like 30$ for part B. We have part N extra insurance and they went up 15$ each. That wipes out our SS increase just in medical. Guess we have to eat less and do less, turn the temp down in the house a few more degrees just to stay even. :poop: :devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish: LB

Well you won’t stay even! Our Government programs are a joke! I am shocked by the complexity, cost, and administrative nightmare of Medicare! Most seniors get scammed into some insurance company for profit “C” advantage plan which was supposed to save the federal government money. In reality advantage plans are a private insurance company multibillion dollar scam, subsidized by the federal government and paid for by our tax dollars. If your healthy and need little than routine coverage an advantage plan may be right for you. Because you don’t need coverage. Some plans, limited covered cost, are free!!! Not counting parts cost. Well not so free! I and the half of population in this country that pay taxes are funding advantage plans!

This country is in trouble!

$0 premium plans are not free and surely are not a scam. 51% of the Medicare population is on an advantage plan. I would be glad to give you some insight how advantage plans really work. On original Medicare a senior basically will pay $174.50 for part B which with part A covers 80% of your doctoring bills. Then that 20% you are expected to pay average $200 per month for 20% plus have no drug coverage, no routine services like dental, hearing and vision. Whats really the scam here? These plans have been around for 18 years now and are not going anywhere. Perfect? Nothing is perfect but for most people they are a better option. I have been offering them since 2006. I have never had anyone whos been on them say, "What a farce!" 701-220-3251 if you want to visit.

apparently you don't understand Bidenomics, have Camper explain to you how it works and how you are better off now than when Trump was in office.

denounce your citizenship, go to Mexico, cross the border, and claim asylum then Biden will put you up in a swanky hotel, give you free medical care, and spending money.
Yes that will work to, atleast if you start selling drugs you can be your own boss, and that's nice because when you are retired that's the time when you don't want to have a regular 9 to 5 job. Don't have to rely on government handouts, it's what I would do if I was retired and looking to subsidize my living income.

Read your post again and I am sorry either you don’t understand how the program works or who really benefits from what. I have seen how everything from physicals and preventive care to long hospitalizations and snf stays to end of life services are covered with part C plans and in dealing with Medicare benefits for over 20 years, these plans are a better fit for the majority of the Medicare population. And when it comes to insurance companies scamming people, I think you have them confused with the federal government and congress. Again, 701-220-3251 if you want to visit.

What gets my goat is that the feds force us to purchase part B . I don't want it , I don't need it . I want to spend my $ 175 dollars to help pay our health insurance premium.

Well Mr Simmers you are obviously selling coverage. And I’m fine with that! I would be glad to teach you a thing or two about Medicare! I’m guessing you are not Medicare age? If I’m wrong I apologize! No dis respect. Advantage plans are being dropped by providers at an alarming rate. Why? I did say they can be right for some people but the tax payer is paying. Very socialist in my opinion. But that’s just an opinion.

I’m glad for you! No they won’t go away. They are too big of money. And totally imbedded in Medicare. A subsidized private corporate administrative operative for the government.

I have A&B plus blue cross.
Blue cross has gone from $517 to $580 for 2024 for the two of us. Last year the increase was around $45. I do have VA care that would save my cost of $330. But have not switch to that.

Took this out in 2012 when i turned 66. Seen all the ads for advantage but some told me not to take. No reason why.

Since 2012 we have not paid a penny for health care other than the premium.
Wife had cancer and that bill was a few hundred thousand. Mine has been a few thousand over that time. Who knows about the future.

No interest in risking what we have by going to the unknow for me. But I do have a $5,000 dentist bill pending. At 77 not sure if it needs to be fix. db

I am not of Medicare age. I have been an insurance agent for 23 years. I have been primarily an advantage plan agent for almost 18 years. Providers are dropping them at an alarming rate? Where at? Not in ND. Program has never been bigger and growing fast as we are close to the middle of the baby boomer generation. These plans grow by 2-3% every year at close to 52% of the Medicare population choosing an advantage plan. I am trained to be an expert in the field. Basically it’s all I do. The main reason why some Medicare providers might not like dealing with these plans is because they require pre authorization before a major procedure can be done. Doctors have to do that for the plan member. Providers have been over billing original for decades helping to break the Medicare program financially. 70% of all insurance fraud is from the doctors office in double billing or billing for services not rendered. Previously those claims would sit at CMS in pending status and it would be 6 months before the federal government would pay that claim without checking to see that the service was actually provided. The feds put a cap on how much profit a carrier can make. Most of all monies paid to part c carriers must be used to pay claims and provide benefits. Fact is, this year there are more plans to choose from than ever before. Plans don’t pop up if providers are dropping. Not sure where you are getting your information but you’re terribly wrong. They are here to stay.

The amount of money you are spending for premiums is obscene. What are you going to risk in an advantage plan? Most advantage plans have a max out of pocket of less than $5000. That’s the most a plan would ever cost you including premium. You will be throwing away $7200 next year weather you use it or not. That’s insane. You have to do what you think is best for you but unfortunately someone gave you bad advise. Ask yourself this, you will pay part B premium next year of about $174.50 a month for 80% coverage and almost $300 a month for 20%. That again is insane. Some plans offer up to $4000 a plan year in dental at no additional cost. My average household savings from an advantage plan in premiums, copays, or other cost sharing benefits is $6900 a year. It’s no joke. This is to important to joke about. It could mean my 23 yr career and the over 2000 Medicare members I have represented over the years, including my own grandparents, my parents and aunts and uncles. Maybe an advantage plan isn’t for you but it wouldn’t hurt for you to talk to a professional.

So anything run by the federal government is so much better? With advantage plans your Medicare $ goes towards your healthcare benefits. Any money left in the coffers of the government gets used for most everything but your healthcare. You do you and be happy but complaing about something you don’t understand is not helping anyone and I doubt it makes you sleep better at night.
