Have you tried the canned air used on computer keyboards. Works well on my pheasant mount. Dust might adhere to the lacquer more so on a fish mount though...

be careful - if you tip it over and spray the propellant you can instantly freeze stuff - I could see the fins cracking if they got hit

11 lbs 8 oz, 29 inches. 5/1/96, Missouri River in waders. I use a feather duster but somehow ours has disappeared and my mount is in serious need of a dusting.

11lbs from the Maple River by West Fargo in early spring. She was 28.5 inches long with an 18.5 inch girth. Caught in about a foot of water about 3 ft from shore. Hook set, lift, pull onto shore. Shortest and most unexciting fight of any large fish I've ever caught. Didn't stop me from getting a taxidermy bill though. (Grin)
