so i have a bunch of hats that need a thorough washing do you guys have a trick you use to wash your hats? because throwing them in the washer just ruins them they are all outta shape and shitty when they come outta the wash and once that happens that hat goes into retirement, i figured someone on here has some tricks of the trade

They actually make a plastic deal you can put them in when you wash them. They keep them formed and from getting beat to hell.

When I was younger I had good luck with them on the top rack of the dishwasher. Without the heated dry option. Take them out wet and stuff the inside with a towel until dry. Lately I've just used the washing machine and haven't had a problem. If you try the dishwasher do it to one hat first to test. It's been a while since I used that method but it seemed to work well.

Get a plastic bowl same size as your noggin and stretch wet hat over it and form bill as you want it and let it air dry.

We always put them on the top rack of the dishwasher. Sometimes you have to cut back on your detergent or it can fade the hats if just washing the hats. We take them out when finished and hang them on something with the bill pointing upwards as they dry much faster that way.

Dawn dish soap and hand wash. Then wear it dry. It takes about 3 minutes to do. All I did was get a bucket or warm soapy water, dunk cap, scrub the inside sweat ring, any noticeable dirty spots, and underside of the bill with my fingers a little bit and then rinse in warm water. Repeat as needed. That's how I washed my military caps and it worked real well for 25 years.

Hand wash in the sink with copious amounts liquid detergent(Tide, etc.) and let soak in the detergent for a while if they are really dirty/tough stains. Rinse detergent out and set on coffee can to dry for preserving shape.

Wear it in the shower with you and shampoo it like you would your hair. Stays formed to your head and gets clean

I'll sell one to you but you have to promise to fish.

As far as washing hats, I earned those sweat rings. So no washing.

Dishwasher.

Without dishes being in with them.

Then as mentioned already, stuff with a towel or something else to let it dry in whatever form you'd prefer.
