Okay, I have look all over for months to find out ANY information on this knife, and have struck out every time. Anyone out there know what it is for, who may have made it, etc.

I was thinking something maybe for grabbing ice blocks and chopping ice, but that has gotten me no where.

Pretty cool knife. How does one use it? I mean, sugar beets are big buggers, do you hook them and tug them out of the ground with this thing?

Me to, Google always refers me to NDA community we have some smart SOBs here. And if NDA doesn't know then it's means we haven't got the time to answer all life mysteries.

Used them back in the day. The hook is for picking loose ones up then slash the tops with the blade. I used them for sampling truck loads for frozen tops. I stood on a stand so I could reach over the side of the truck box and hook 5 or 6 and slice the top shoulder of the beat of at a 45 degree angle. The meat would turn translucent like a cooked onion when froze. Didn't want any frozen loads going into a warm pile where they would turn into a rot spot.
