Dual rack n pinion steering. Was getting a bit stiff to steer.
Hard to see from the pics, but I essentially detached the steering coupler so I could access the ends of the steering cables. I bought a 1" vinyl hose, 10' long. I hooked one end of the hose over the steering cable, raised the other end to the rafters, and connected a funnel to that end. Filled it with atf and let gravity do the work. Let it sit like this for 2 days on each cable. Working the steering cables back n forth a few times a day.
I was worried that with just gravity it wouldn't work its way thru the entire cable(s), but when I unhooked everything and gave it a full steer back n forth I could here it gurgling at the steering wherl, so it seems like it did.
Steering is now silky smooth.
I think it was $175 for new cables. This fix cost me $12.
