Bottom bouncer and spinner harnesses remain one of the greatest ways you can catch walleyes on big reservoirs like Lake Sakakawea in western North Dakota.

In today’s world, much of the fishing conversation revolves around Forward Facing Sonar but FFS is not the answer for everything. If you have multiple anglers in the boat, have people that can’t stand on the bow all day and cast or dealing with extremely strong winds… back trolling and controlled drifts with bottom bouncers and spinners simply put a lot of fish in the boat. We would argue that few presentations have caught more walleye on Lake Sakakawea than a bottom bouncer and spinner.

We recap some recent time on Sakakawea fishing out of Parshall Bay on the Van Hook Arm. Crazy numbers of fish on classic humps and points and offshore islands in 9-14 feet of water. We break down some tips and gear recommendations for using bottom bouncers and spinners and how anybody can use this program to catch a lot of walleye.
