When Brett Bloemendaal is in town for business, you know it actually means fishing because that is the business of a fishing guide, right? After spending a few days at the KX Sport Show in Minot, we took a day to cut some ice and lots of it. With 22 inches still on Lake Sakakawea, we had no trouble driving out to a location that held some fish. In the process, we befriended a fellow angler, Nick, who had a brand new spear and was even lucky enough to see it in action! You won’t believe the beautiful shot Nick got on the pike I spotted when I peered into the abyss for a second. It was incredible. The walleye fishing was hot… it was almost 50 degrees outside and the sun was baking us. The catches were enough to keep our attention and the big fish moving through really had us thinking it could be any moment. You’re going to love it!
