I do it to myself every year - eat all the sweet treats that clients send us or that I find at home

I normally avoid sweets during the rest of the year and only get sore from strains (working out, yadda)

so when I eat sweets my joints eventually start aching and feeling like arthritis - like clockwork

I stop eating them and a couple days later it's gone

anybody else notice this or is my skater/stoner body unique?

I have the same stiffness in the morning, I usually chase my wife around for a bit, she usually isn't amused one bit, and my stiffness goes away.......

nope - not even an occasional twinge since I gave up ibuprofen

tortured by it for years - now it's gone - with one simple move - ZERO IBUPROFEN

praise God!!

I sincerely believe that ibuprofen is the devil for some people's genetics and causes gout - 100% convinced in my case

I swear by the theory for now. I would always "loaded up" on ibupro when I felt even a twinge of an attack coming - in an attempt to head off swelling preemptively

the last gout attack I instantly felt way worse - like in an hour - and I thought "how could that be????!!!"

then I thought back how I loaded up on the crap every time I stubbed a toe or some such.

so I stopped cold turkey and take good old tylenol instead for skater wounds, strains, etc. but generally take nothing but aspirin

I used to think tylenol wasn't effective and switched to ibuprof when it first came out - but tylenol works just as well - not sure what I was thinking 20 years ago when I switched (maybe during the tylenol poisonings?)

and not a twinge since - been about a year exactly since my last gouty episode

I am really hoping it's the key and do believe that it is! Thumbs Up

I am so convinced that I MIGHT try some Budweiser again - it's a sure gout maker for me - but maybe with was the combination of domestic beer AND ibuprofen

it would be great to have a Bud now and then - I miss it

I'm no doc. But I've had a sore big toe, from gout or pseudo gout before, and it's awful. Simply awful. At its worst, I can barely stand to have a sock on my foot, or the weight of a sheet at night. I might be somewhat of a pansy, but that freakin' hurts.

It's been a lot less likely since I gave up booze. Helped a ton.

My liver began speaking to me too, after I quit. We had been having a spat for a few years.

budweiser and acetaminophin ought to make short work of that liver....

I'm hip to that - have been since the connection was first discovered. You may have missed my aspirin reference above.

aceto is only taken for sever aches/pains - all other needs (hangovers, etc.) are aspirin - alka-seltzer usually - I avoid aceto if I even think I'll be drinking later - and on occasion didn't drink because I had taken some

here's what dirty is talking about folks - it's real risk - don't ignore it

I was speaking more in jest towards tylenol, but I knew you probably understood the connection.
