Not a Facebook fan and don't intend to be, but how much personnel information is required to open an account? Seems like lately there has been a lot of false information ( news casts) spread about different threats /warnings about things at schools and other places. What I'm getting at is there may be more credible posts only, if there is ways that would incriminate you for falsely reporting. Some may put something out there just to get out of school ? No idea, just asking...

YES, what you say on facebook stays with you. It does require some info I was not comfortable with. Had an account and closed it not long ago. If you want mindless posts about everyones personal issues then you may like it.

I avoided it as long as I could but broke down and made an account. Everything I try to keep up on doesn't get updated on websites very frequently or routes you to social media to see the updates. Very annoying but it is what it is. Walleye boats for sale is pretty neat. What I have learned is I have no idea how to use social media with any kind of efficiency. If I get a reminder for a birthday or something of that sort I still pick up the phone and call.

I was lured into it much like Rizzo was. Most info out there is routed through FB and now that I have it mostly figured out I like that most info is almost instant depending on the feeds you choose to see. Security is good too you can lock it down to not let anyone see much of anything about you, and to start an acct isn't much different than starting an account on any forum.

Broke down and got an account just to enter contests. I will admit info like Instagram because it's pics and not a bunch of bullshit

FACEBOOK - where people you haven't seen or talked to in over a decade want to be or ARE your "friend". I absolutely hate this website for so many reasons.

I do have a twitter account where i follow some news and shopping sites for some steals. That's about it.

I use it to stay in touch with my very large family that is spread out all over the US. Also to talk to some friends from school that have spread out and started families elsewhere. Yes there is useless drama on there but if you use the features available like the ignore feature on here you can weed out what you don’t want to see and get just the info and entertainment value you do want to see. Just my opinion

I have had it for quite a few years and yes a lot of shit on there but also a lot of valuable resources. I also use it to promote my GUNTEK business which has been great. If you can ignore the bullshit it isn't so bad.

Ha "fag book" as a previously frequent user of this site used to call it is what one CHOOSES to make of it. With a little bit of sorting you can "power river clang" what you don;t want.

With a little bit of research you can get pages that post factual reliable news that is most times never reported. It also gives a bit of insight into how far gone some people and places in this country are.

My wife has one and that's enough for me. When she wants me to sit down and look at some family postings she has to scroll through pages and pages of the most useless information I ever saw. So after 45 minutes of looking through pages and pages and 2 minutes of viewing the pictures or posts that are pertinent, I'm convinced it's not for me. After an episode of doing this I look at her and say "That's 43 minutes of my life I'll never get back." And I don't think my not creating an account will have any impact on Mark Zuckerberg's financial standings.

tell me about this Instagram thing. I'm on the cusp of joining.

I've had FB for a long time, and it's mostly drivel.

…as an extremely viable source of news and information for a large chunk of the nation’s population, I don’t see any issues with the facebook

Oh the irony of this thread!

Haha, yes, a bunch of internet (nope, I don't like the internet) users...

No offense everybody, I'm with ya. I like my NDA, and I enjoy laughing at FB, but I have to log in to see either of them, and we all want everyone to believe we live in the woods...

On the plus side there are some very good hunting/fishing groups on FB. That is where I spend the majority of my time. Also, like mentioned above it's nice to keep in touch with close friends/family that are spread out. Yes there is a fair amount of bullshit on there but its pretty easy to avoid/ignore.
