Hopefully Trump will get down on our corrupt neighbors to the North that have been mismanaging their forests and firefighting efforts. They are poisoning our air in the US for going on 3+ years and don't give it shit about the air pollution poisoning and killing our people. Trump needs to start imposing fines on them every day they pollute our air just like we would do to a power plant or another company. Start hitting them with a 1 billion dollar a day fine for every day these fricken fires burn out of control and contaminate our clean air and watch how fast these fires would go out! Seems these fires are started and left to burn to further the "Climate Change" agenda. This shit needs to stop!

Also: some of our far left shit states are doing the same thing. They also need to manage their forest areas better or be fined also for the air pollution they cause.

Pine beetles have wiped out vast areas of forrest in our mountain states of the west. However liberals would rather watch the wood rot than let the lumber companies they hate harvest dead timber. They live in homes built of wood while hating lumber companies, and are comfortable in those wood homes with heat and air conditioning provided with power from the power companies they hate. Many live off the taxes of the successful Americans that they also hate, or the charity of the Christian churches that they also hate. The tolerant left ---- ya right.

I dont think dead trees killed by these beetles would make very good lumber since the larvae consumes the wood. The government needs to find away to either use pesticides or remove healthy trees that have not been effected by this evasive species brought here from east asia. The beetle will consume just about every type of tree in north America especially maple.

I’m WALKING to my fishing boat and will try to conserve my energy by trolling today rather than casting jigs. Hope the fish don’t let the smoke influence their day.

This is nuts. No need to add wood chips to the grill. I suspect I could put a steak on the top rail of my deck and in about 5 minutes have full blown smoke flavor.
Lol I'm doing smoked wings, beans and queso tonight and I wonder if that'll actually help 😂
This sucks.

There is a huge market for it . My father in law finished his whole basement in beetle kill and it looks great.

I could see it being a specialty product but for those in the lumber business not so much. Because I'm sure we are talking 1000s of arces of trees killed and im not sure it would be enough people who are interested in wood that is full of holes to make it for structural lumber.

Have any of you been in these areas of Canada? These forests are nasty and thick. They’ve been historically (at least in the time we’ve been alive) wet enough to not have much for fires until the last 10 years or so. There have certainly been big fires up there in the past but not of this frequency. The climate is getting warmer and drier and this is the effect. You can argue cause, but that’s the reality. Logging and forestry management is difficult if not impossible in these areas. The bogs and thickness make logging very difficult. And there are millions of acres. I don’t see this changing but only for the worse. There isn’t a solution, or at least a reasonable one.

The US isn’t any different. The fire that burned 100k acres on the east face of the WY Bighorns burned an area they’ve called the asbestos forest. It hadn’t had a significant fire in a very long time. The fuels just stayed wet enough that it never really burned. Things have changed. The smoke sucks but I think it’s here to stay.
