who put it on the ballot?I just don’t see how Measure 1 is a citizen vs legislature issue. Either citizens change the constitution with 50.1% approval or citizens change it with 60%. How do legislators factor in?

I would say the majority are in it for their own best interest not ours. And/or they’re a card carrying member of the good ole boys network. What goes on at the county and city level is mind boggling so I can’t even imagine how bad it is at the state level. So our all our elected officials are corrupt and out to screw us over? Is that your position?
Not trying to argue or upset you, just trying to understand your position, its all good and I appreciate your input.
When AI takes over govt, we will finally be free of the greed and corruption humans cannot overcome!I would say the majority are in it for their own best interest not ours. I couldn’t care less if they oppose it. It’s no different than not knowing who’s donating on the other side to pass it. We don’t even get to know who those people even are.I’m not sure we can assume that since the legislature voted to put this on the ballot that we can assume they want it. Couldn’t it be that they agree that the people should decide? And what about that sketchy Fairness Project opposing it, how do we factor that in?
No way you are going to prevent out of state money from coming into the state. It would likely be unconstitutional based on protected speech. It really is just the opposite of a power grab. A power grab happens when a small majority can force their will on a minority. The founding fathers new the dangers and created a republic instead of direct democracy for that vary reason. It is the state goal of The Fairness Project to instill direct democracy into the United States. That will be the end of this country as we know it if that happens.the logic behind measure one is flawed. They say the threat is really out of state money influencing voters, fix THAT instead of handing more power to the legislators. Its just a power grab dressed up as something else. Dont fall for the man in the dress with lipstick on, its not the real thing!
I’m kinda wondering if AI wasn’t involved in the trump/biden electionWhen AI takes over govt, we will finally be free of the greed and corruption humans cannot overcome!
You should care because their objectives go far beyond this measure in North Dakota.I couldn’t care less if they oppose it. It’s no different than not knowing who’s donating on the other side to pass it. We don’t even get to know who those people even are.
You just have to accept that’s what this group does. They do it all over the country. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that people need to do battle against them. There’s gonna be cases where their desires and our desires happen to be the same but for different reasons. I’m not gonna vote a different way just because an opposing factor is pushing an agenda. Just because they’re doing that doesn’t mean they could ever pull of their desires here. One case at a time. You should care because their objectives go far beyond this measure in North Dakota.

They count on people like you to have that attitude. Apathy is their most effective tool. You just have to accept that’s what this group does. They do it all over the country. I just see em for what’s it’s worth. They didn’t put the bill on the ballot. Had they done that it would warrant more of look. People for the measure simply use them as a deterrent to get what they really want. Some of us are able to separate thingsThey count on people like you to have that attitude. Apathy is their most effective tool.
Yep. It’s hard to believe how many hardcore conservatives who spent the last how many years going on about less government control and how you should always vote to keep power you’ll never get back. So many just fell in line because their team told them to because of the scary blue haired boogeyman.anything that takes power away from citizens gives power to govt, there are only 2 poles on a magnet.
They count on people believing whatever they do is the “conservative” thing and that they can do as they please knowing the big capital R keeps them in office. Hell most of them skipped the convention and don’t bother with party endorsements because they know they’re safe no matter what. They count on people like you to have that attitude. Apathy is their most effective tool.
And if that continues to where the liberal population outnumbers us, you’ll be wishing your vote counted more.I'm sure the fine people in outstate MN felt the same way as eyexer before the liberals infiltrated the cities and now control much of the voting block in MN. Same in WI, Illinois, etc. You can see it happening right here with Fargo and Bismarck voting more and more liberal all the time!
That's where we are headed and there's no stopping it. It will happen faster if we allow outside influences to pass constitutional measures like #2. More "free" shit ya knowAnd if that continues to where the liberal population outnumbers us, you’ll be wishing your vote counted more.
Explain "outside influences to pass constitutional measure like #2" - don't ND citizens vote? (not being a jerk, just not understeanding)That's where we are headed and there's no stopping it. All the ad's with the "starving children" and "saving hardworking parents $1000" were paid for by local citizens I'm sure....Explain "outside influences to pass constitutional measure like #2" - don't ND citizens vote? (not being a jerk, just not understeanding)

So did the founding fathers plan to limit the citizens voice by making it harder to change the federal constitution and forming the electoral college as well?Sluggo said:

The legislators factors in
BECAUSE THEY PUT IT ON THE BALLOT
It would count more if measure 1 passes with a yes vote, will make it harder for the progressives to change our constitution, like measure 2 is going to do. Get your wallet out, the free stuff is just starting. And if that continues to where the liberal population outnumbers us, you’ll be wishing your vote counted more.
