I just don’t see how Measure 1 is a citizen vs legislature issue. Either citizens change the constitution with 50.1% approval or citizens change it with 60%. How do legislators factor in?

who put it on the ballot?

The legislators factors in
BECAUSE THEY PUT IT ON THE BALLOT
So are you voting for a free breakfast and lunch for all?

Honeslty I think voting age should be changed to 30, because kids are less mature than they were 100 years ago and its proven human brains keep developing until at least age 25...

It would count more if measure 1 passes with a yes vote, will make it harder for the progressives to change our constitution, like measure 2 is going to do. Get your wallet out, the free stuff is just starting.
If progressives were to take control like some are so worried about and conservatives want to make amendments it will be more difficult due to the extra 10% of votes needed. About half the state votes so that would be 40,000 more republican votes needed.

I guess it is time to hold out my palm and get mine.

If the progressives take control, and we are shifting that way, especially the young people, the conservatives wont be making any changes or amendments. We are becoming the minority.
Case and point will be measure 2 in this election cycle.
I hope I am wrong though.

So are you voting for a free breakfast and lunch for all?

Yet here you are still beating that dead horse on post 81

Please tell me how to vote, I am confused and don't have the intellect to understand, you appear to be the smartest person on this thread, please tell me how to vote O wise one.
Check Voting Info

Last post on this as I feel like I'm beating a dead horse at this point, but I believe there is still confusion about the measures:

I see your argument as supporting a yes vote. We are much more likely to lose freedoms with a 50%+1 scenario imo
If the law is real bad we at least have a chance to reverse it again with 51%. At 60% the initiated measures will almost certainly not make it.

This does nothing to the initiated measure process. Laws can still be placed into century code with a 50% threshold.

The constitution should be held to the highest standard. If it only takes crossing a 50% threshold to change the constitution, then maybe bond referendums should be lowered to 50% as well.

I completely agree, well said.
