went branding with a group, and they threw me onto a horse. I had been warned several times that this horse was a little fresh, but I used to ride bare back in highschool so I though nothing of it. just about done with the gather, and the back latigo breaks. horse loses its shit, and I bailed before the saddle slid under him. knocked the wind out of me, and walked a mile back to the homestead. moral of the story, saddle your own horse.

FWIW, I'm going snowboarding at Huff tomorrow. Been riding since probably '95. I'm 47. I can still keep up with the hatchlings for the most part.
