    Utilize your local soil conservation district. Conservation grade is $2/tree or $1.80/tree when purchased in bundles of 25. They also plant trees and install weed barrier fabric for $1/ linear foot. Much more cost effective route compared to purchasing tall stock evergreens.

    Tree Order Time

    Unfortunately we (SCD) have an agreement with the greenhouse association that doesn't allow us to sell trees that are deemed ornamental or non conservation grade stock. If we don't abide by that agreement we run the potential of losing funding from the state and other cooperating agencies.

    extreme sneak mount

    I have a semi-sneak mount on a buck I harvested a few years ago. I was in the same position as you are but I'm glad I went with it, I love it. To me it makes the mount more personable and natural. I have all mine done at Hermans Taxidermy in Jamestown, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
