the deer vastly prefer to destroy aromatics (cedars) and willows on our property out west trembling aspen is #3 I suppose I'm guessing...

I'm interested to if this will actually help. Are you going to put signage up as well so they know where the No Rub Zone and Rub Zone are?

Rubbing isn't so bad , they just hit a few and they grow back, wait till march when the deer get hungry and acquire a taste for them.
