Leupold VX 4-12x40 (1 Inch) Creedmoor Reticle

So I have been doing some reading on this reticle and some say it may work with the 243. Not exactly but with the right loads it would be very close.

Any and all comments are appreciated . I am going to need another scope and I think this maybe the one.
Thanks!

Why not just go on e-bay and get a discarded Daisy 880 scope? I'm sure it'd be accurate enough to plink in your basement:

I used to shoot a few Christmas catalogues bound with duct tape in a old rocking chair to practice "off hand" with .22CBs with no danger or ricochet. I guess the same could be done with a .243 without damage to your foundation or excessive noise.

The "real" guys must be busy with their real lives. :p

The dots line up w/your 85’s pretty well. @ 500 you’ll be about 2” flatter, not enough to matter shooting from field positions.

Personally Im not a fan if reticles that are tailored for specific cartridges or loads, Id rather have a drop chart and a scope I can put on any gun I want.

I'm just here to spread the word about .243's bouncing off deer. Jeez man. Take a breath. I thought we were "friends"! Also, thanks Lunker!

Not where I'd like to be
I don't care for BDC-style reticles. If you're set on that scope, I would look at the tri-MOA reticle. Use a ballistics calculator, like this free one from Hornady, and figure out your exact dope. Then tape a dope card to your stock or get one that fits inside the ocular scope cap.
Or the really easy button is range-finding binos with ballistics on-board. I just range a target and my binos tell me what to dial (or hold).

speaking of "taping ballistics to your stock"... does someone not make a handy ballistics chart holder thingy

like the quarterbacks play book wrap on their wrist?

I get tired of tape going all gunky and letting go, etc.
