Hi everyone. I inherited some old 30-30 ammo from my father in law. The tips are corroded and the brass is beat up. I don't have a 30-30 and I don't think this ammo is usable. I'd like to just get rid of it. Any suggestions. I'm in the Williston area. Thanks for your help.

If you inherited the ammo, who inherited the 30-30? Sounds like you got the short end of the stick.

Thanks for the advice fellas. I did get the short end of the stick. I don't know where said 30-30 is due to my father in law passing away. I'd definitely ask him where the gun is if I could. Although a classic rifle by any standard I'm not really looking to buy a 30-30. I do have a marlin 1895CB in 45-70 gov. so I feel I'm covered there. Probably just contact local law enforcement. Thanks.

Ive heard of people tumbling ammo to remove corrosion, Id prolly not do a vibratory one, but a drum type shouldnt hurt anything. How much do you have? Even if it looks rough on the outside, likely its fine inside if it is factory loaded. If its reloads Id scrap it.

Organizing a storage building today and found 2 medium size totes of factory
load shotgun shells (various shot). Most are 12 Ga and I only use 20 ga for upland. Also various cal center fire rounds in another container. Guessing they are around 8 years old but always stored in the totes. Would police dept or sheriffs dept be my a good bet to have them destroyed?

its probably fine, throw it in a tumbler for a bit to shine it up, or give it away, someone will use it for something. Got pictures?

Vibratory tumblers won't hurt them either. Dad ran an unfathomable number of loaded rounds through a vibratory to get the sizing goop off without having to pick media out of primer flash-holes.
