I filled my S.D. tag this morning. I was hoping to shoot him in Velvet. But he stripped it on Sunday. He has a really nice cape. I saved the cape if someone is looking for a nice one. Its skinned out and in the freezer.

This buck is a really cool gray color. I don't ever remember getting a deer so gray.

Musta used a Mech head? I don't see an exit.
I did use a mechanical head. I used a Devastion 100gr 3 blade. The Buck was standing broadside at 30 yds. I hit him high and left of where I wanted to hit him. The arrow went in, hooked a rib bone and exited the off side hind quarters. I didn't recover the broadhead and about 12 inches of arrow was still in him. He only went about 150 yds.

Well the big six I posted a thread about has been tagged. Full velvet and an AWESOME trophy if I do say so myself. He's 17 inches wide with 5 plus inch brows, 7 inch g2's, and 21 inch beams. All measurements are estimates as the velvet messes them up a bit and we didn't bother with mass. Again the velvet deal. Figure he's around 115ish if you care about score, making this buck the biggest 3x3 I've come across in real life. Good shot to the back of the lungs and the deer went 50 yds and piled up. Congratulations to the hunters. They sure worked hard enough to earn it.

Looks like a huge body also!
Bigger than average, but he's a bit bloated. With the midship shot, the hunter elected to wait a couple hours. Then I reminded him that we have coyotes and showed him the pic of the skull and spine of the buck the young man in the wheelchair took last fall. He decided not to wait any more. (grin) I will say that the drag from where he dropped to the place we could use the sled took all three of us and I was leaking significantly when it was done.
