The only change from last week’s report is that we had some rain and the water is going up a tiny bit providing some much-needed oxygen.

Again, this week, the only boat ramp that is truly safe and reliable right now is East Grand Forks. Others are usable but USE EXTREME CAUTION if using them. Also, bring a back anchor, the lack of current can get boats swinging with very little wind, north wind in particular.

The fish are concentrating in the bigger, deeper holes or shallow flats with some wood piles and a deep drop next to it. All spots remain hit and miss. I am seeing some quicker hits but like weeks past, give the spot a solid 40 minutes and you catch a few be willing to sit longer.

Sucker has been the bait king for me. Three to four days dead (on ice) seems to be working the rest.

We have the big annual cool down coming this weekend and I suspect things will change for the next week or so after that sets in. Water temperature is holding between 72 and 73. I’d bet it will be below 65 by the end of next week.
