No need to build this goofy trust business?
I guess Silencer Central just did mine with no extra charge and it didn't affect my wait time. I guess if things don't change in the next 4-5yrs I want my daughter's to be able to use them if they want to hunt without me.
But the way things are going hopefully we just won't have to work about it. Civilized sportsmen shoot rifles suppressed is what Im told. The Banish shotgun suppressor looks really interesting, would be cool to try turkey hunting

The shotgun silencer is interesting. Wonder how it patterns?

I must be the only guy in the world that doesn’t even have a threaded rifle it seems. Everyone is talking suppressors lol.

Was surprised at the weight, would be awkward at best in any application other than turkey. But sure would be nice in the dogs hearing and those in the blinds.
If some one would come up with an over the bbl and three d printed titanium it might be something that works. I would like one for the same reasons you said

From their site. You can get different chokes it looks like. I would venture to guess that with the chokes they are providing a person should find something to satisfy.
I would be interested to see how it would feel on flying birds but I can see the benefits being more in turkey.

Engineered through more than 50 design iterations to ensure flawless function, the BANISH SGN 12 TI is the first shotgun suppressor that works seamlessly with interchangeable choke tubes. It comes with an Improved Cylinder (4 dots), Modified (3 dots), and Full choke (1 dot), giving you the flexibility to tailor your shot pattern for any hunt or clay shoot. Additional chokes are also available to further tune your setup.

What they say and how it patterns are two different things. I’m not a pattern guru but I know some chokes work best with guns and loads. For turkey especially, if it doesn’t pattern as good as my chokes now I’ll take the boom noise instead. Waterfowl slightly less picky on chokes but the same thing.

eForm submitted at Scheels on the 8th and was approved today (13th). Not too shabby.
so... I had to fill out more forms when I went to pick up the suppressor - the same long forms you fill out when you buy the suppressor.

I think this is a Scheels policy decision - not the ATFs.

If so, that really irks me and I'll look for other ways to buy in the future.

After killing an elk in early October with my first suppressed rifle, i wont be shooting another rifle that is not suppressed. 350 yard shot and i could hear the bullet hit on impact as well as my follow-up shot. NO hearing protection was pretty nice for once. Although i do use it at the range. More suppressors will be on order 😎

Everybody does realize the NFA is still in effect. The ATF said they are not enforcing the law. They also warned that this could change in the future.

The fight can't stop till NFA is eliminated. They are just giving what you want to keep you quiet and complacent. In 3 years when they want to enforce they will make many felons out there and get to try out there registration system.

What do i mean. You will still need a 4473 to purchase. When they go back to the form 4 you will have 30 days to submit this for approval or risk the penalties. If you dont comply the information you provide on the 4473 will be used to come find you!!

Beware

True but the same can be said about different ammo, when I got into goose hunting I bought the cheapest Winchester BB there was because my buddy told me to and eventually in my second season I patterned it out of my gun and it was horrendous. I've done very minor pattern testing on 410, 20 and 12ga turkey loads through chokes. Plenty of times same choke with different results depending on ammo. Obviously the same has been true on using a "turkey" choke, for example I have a Carlson Long Beard XR choke and the 3" Winchester Long Beard load shoots much different than 3" or 3.5" Winchester Double X ( I think the Double X tends to shoot higher at 25yds if I remember correctly). Then you throw in that some guns barrels can also produce different results. Target Focus Life has done some pretty neat testing on his YouTube over the past few years on patterns of guns, ammo and chokes all separate.
So blaming just one part of the system and ignoring the rest including the soft tissue side doesn't make as much sense to me.
FYI-I'm a self admitting streaky/bad shotgun shooter. I've gone away from the higher priced upland shells because I learned that I can miss just the same with high end ammo as I do with the cheap'ish ammo and I also seem to hit birds just the same as well.

Come find me for what? I sold it.

When NFA goes away you’ll only need a 4473 for purchasing from a dealer. Person-to-person will be cash between residents of the same state. Won’t take long either. Plenty of folks have cans they’ll sell as they no longer meet their needs or they want to fund something else. The paper-trail stops w/the last FFL dealer who sold the item, just like firearms.
