I never understood what that was supposed to mean. The only thing it could mean is restricting private oil and gas companies to no longer sell to the open (global) market. Pretty anti-capitalist. Were they going to subsidize sales to offset profit loss to keep their products in the state, AKA socialism?

  • The U.S. ban on crude oil exports was established by Congress and the Ford administration through the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975, following the 1973–1974 Arab OPEC oil embargo. [1, 2]
Key details of the ban and its removal:
      • The Origin: Imposed in 1975 to promote domestic energy independence and stabilize local fuel prices after foreign oil embargoes shocked the U.S. economy. [1, 2, 3]
      • The Repeal: The 40-year-old ban was lifted in December 2015 when Congress repealed the restriction through an omnibus spending bill signed into law by President Barack Obama, allowing unrestricted exports of U.S. crude oil. [1, 2, 3]

One of the main reasons it was a hard no for me was as a parent (3 kids now out of K-12), when I would go have lunch with my kids at their schools, every child had a fruit, vegetable, milk, and protein on their trays. Watching the amount of fruit and vegetables thrown in the garbage was astonishing. The shear amount of waste was crazy. Now with ala cart, students are buying cookies, chips, and all other sorts of processed foods instead of a "healthy option", because they can......

Same here. A big reason for my no vote was the argument that the kids needed a "healthy" meal. There is nothing healthy about the majority of school lunch or breakfast options. Pure garbage, everything about that bill and the the food it would have provided.

They said energy independent not price independent
:ROFLMAO: Kinda like that "energy independence" Hoeven and Kramer have been spewing about the last 10 years? How's that working out for us with $6 diesel?
Hoeven and Kramer are in the same bedroom with the Dems. Uniparty!

I'm just happy we don't have to hear from Harry Potter AKA Mike Johnson anymore.

risingsun and skeeter...got my stats?
I could give 2 fucks less about what you do. All I care about is I don’t have to have my exorbitant amount of taxes I pay go to feeding someone else’s damn kids in school. I pay for mine, they can pay for theirs. You made them, you take care of them. I don’t understand how this is so complicated for some people.
