    Mink at Metigoshe

Capture it and train it to kill vermin for you. There's a Mormon guy from Utah that did that, now breeds his own for that purpose. Apparently Mink farms are a big thing there and they escape a lot. He has a bunch of youtube videos of the Minks working and it's quite entertaining.

Can Opener that is Worth a $hit

We bought a few fancy looking ones before getting the basic, simple looking one. I think it's called Swing-Away or something like that. They have worked for us for 10 years now. I think my parents have had theirs at least 25 years, still opening cans. We had an electric one too for a while...

    Boat Winterizing

My dad used to do something similar in the shop. He just cut a hole in the lid and smeared PB on the underside, a little back from the hole. They try to get under the lid and can't reach the peanut butter. They keep reaching further until they can't hold on and fall into the bucket with water.

Things an adult should know how to do without Youtube

I have a small utility trailer that is like this when the ramp isn't on it. Can't see it until it's almost sideways. Plus it's so short it goes from turning to jackknifed in 3 feet.

    Sharp-tails/ MT

I made fajitas with some last year and it was excellent. The gaminess seemed to complement the seasonings and not only was it edible, I actually really liked it. All the other times I've made grouse it was because I felt obligated to eat it. I'm actually looking forward to making more of this.

Thanks, I know I could get them online, just like to keep it local when I can. I'll give the guys MM mentioned a call.

    Custom Registration Number Stickers

I recently got a boat and need some registration number stickers for it. I don't want to use the black or white mailbox numbers from Menards. There's a green stripe just under the gunwales with a gap that looks like it's meant for the stickers to go there, so I'd like at least the color to be...

    Boat fails/shit happens 2020

I just had one on Saturday. I was parked straight out of the launch in a parking spot. There was the edge of the pavement in front of me and on the passenger side of the truck. Someone parked about 5 feet back from the trailer alongside the road. I didn't see anyone around, so tried to move...

    9mm Coated Bullets Leading

I tried 4.2gr charge and it was noticeably more snappy, but still the same leading issue. I'm stubborn and not ready to give up yet, so ordered a sample pack of .357 bullets to try. If they work fine, it must just be the size combined with hardness or something. I still haven't tried...

    9mm Coated Bullets Leading

The data from Hodgdon says 3.9-4.4gr is the range for W231 and 125gr TC bullet. I’m going to try out 4.2gr and see what it does.

    9mm Coated Bullets Leading

I've used 'Blue Bullets' coated bullets for a while and had a good load for plinking at the target range. It was 3.8 grains of W231 and a 124 (125 maybe?) grain truncated cone bullet. Earlier this spring I ran out of bullets and couldn't get more due to COVID, and went looking to see if anyone...

Best Way to Remove Lead Fouling

Well here’s another believer in chore boy. $2.37 and I’m back in business. Took all of 5 minutes to get the lead out. My wife said the guy at sally world looked at her like she was nuts when she asked for chore boy scrubbers and have her some scotch brite ones that said copper coated. I went to...

Best Way to Remove Lead Fouling

Thanks, I was going to get the Lewis device but haven't had a chance to order it. I have been working on a landscaping project and never seem to have time to take a breath. I will try the chore boy if I can find it locally and verify it's copper and not stainless steel.

String of lights in the night sky

Haha shitting rubber nickels! I'm stealing that one. I'm sitting in a training seminar and choked on coffee when I read that.

    Expandable campers

I have a 1974 pop up camper that I use for hunting. The coldest night I’ve stayed in it was 13F. It was actually not bad inside with the propane furnace thing. I used rugs to keep the chilly floor at bay and had an electric fan to circulate air. I think the coldest it got inside was 55F. Thank...

    Pollen allergies

I’ve had decent luck with zyrtec and Claritin. When one quits working I switch to the other. The other thing that helps me is the Sudafed you have to get from behind the counter. The stuff on the shelf won’t cut it. Benadryl helps but knocks me right out. My mom swears by Flonase but it hasn’t...

    Rhubarb Anyone???

Mine are green as well. I also heard it's a genetic thing. It tastes the same to me, so I don't pay much attention to the color.

Best Way to Remove Lead Fouling

Good point, I never thought about it that way. I haven't tried the properly sized copper brush, just the nylon one with Boretech. Tonight, I'll give it a go with a 9mm copper brush.

    Siding & Window recommendations

I put smartside on my shed I built last summer. I can see where it would be a little more labor than vinyl or steel siding. The only piece I missed was painting the ends; hopefully it lasts until we sell the place. I even read it in the instructions but brain farted while putting it in. I...

Best Way to Remove Lead Fouling

I had a recent batch of handloads that went awry. Still not sure what the cause was; I suspect they were a little hot, but I leaded up the barrel of one of my 9mms pretty bad. What's the best way to remove this? I've tried the old Hoppes and BoreTech Eliminator and a lot of scrubbing with 40...
