    Lund transom

I have done a few and will have to eventually on my Lund. How those idiots didn't put any sealant on the transom bolts is beyond comprehension to me, but whatever. But like Ahab said, if you have a place it just takes time. You have to be able to unhook and lift the motors off, then store...

    No till food plot

I have done several minimum till plots with varied (usually low) success. We have a creek bottom that we really can't get machinery into so it's the best option. We usually spray in the fall and then again in the spring. The overwinter period helps to get rid of a lot of residue. Then drag...

    Tent recommendations.

Sleeping 8 is a pretty tall order. I did a lot of research for family tents and the two that came up were always the North Face Wawona and the REI Kingdom. I bought the Wawona 6 and it is a sweet tent. Wife and I can have the big air mattress setup and the pack and play for the little one and...

    Trailer Hubs Warm?

I don't know if bearing buddies really do anything at all, the only time you see them is on boat trailers. Not sure that the whole wet environment is really solved by them regardless. But yes, don't pump them till the spring is full, you'll blow out the seals. All the heavy duty trailers use...

    Trailer Hubs Warm?

Morning to afternoon, or cold day to hot, there is a little difference. But anything beyond just mild warmth is a no go IMO. I have never had on any trailer a good bearing be anything but warm even on a hot day. Even if it is a 100 degrees, I've always been able to put my hand on them...

    Trailer Hubs Warm?

I think they can vary either side, depending on sun, wind, and road conditions. I just repacked mine and they were dead cool for 100 miles. Then one was just slightly warm for the next 100 miles. On the return trip, the opposite one had a touch of warmth. I check them regularly and a bit of...

    Dive-bomb Silos

They are good with the drawbacks listed. Sticking the stake into a stalk or cracks in the ground is helpful. I have never used a hammer, I pretty much use my Real Geese and punch at that point. Only complaint about is about the fanboy club they have on social media....worse than the Avery Pro...

    cloud seeding...

I agree a yearlong total would not make sense. But there are places to do it monthly, like here- https://water.weather.gov/precip/ Now is it accurate enough? Did rainfall occur outside of thunderstorms? All valid questions. But, big claims require proof, one way or another. Screaming...

    cloud seeding...

As I said earlier in this thread, if it is so apparent that the seeding is causing the rainfall to be dropped before it gets to area X, it shouldn't be that difficult to provide proof. Cumulative rainfall maps should show a stark gradient between lots of rain and no rain right in the counties...

    World Murder Statistics

There is a little more to Switzerland than that, I've researched a bit. Frist, you don't HAVE to own a gun, saying so is false (more below). Yes, they do encourage youth shooting and firearms training, even having a national shooting competition. But they also have mandatory military service...

    Mass shootings...

With several others there as witnesses, nothing happened other than questioning, etc. and then everyone was let go. The guy has a 100% clean record, there is nothing other than this incident that could cause it. So, it's either two things. First, he somehow got tagged during this encounter...

    Mass shootings...

I have a friend who was involved in a "domestic" in his younger years. Crazy girlfriend screaming at him, neighbor calls the cops. Nothing happened beyond their argument. To this day he still gets denied anytime he wants to purchase a gun. Then where do you think he gets them from? It's a...

    Shelter Belts

I've shot a pile of grouse and pheasant out of single row tree lines and have walked hundreds of miles along them. Ours have seen better days though, nearing 60 years old as well. Has anyone replanted the old rows with any success? Thinking spray out the grass a fall & spring, then hand plant...

Math issues? Common sense issues? where to start?

Funny part is in my experience, kids know the order of operations and can execute it. The bigger issue may be the 8/2 or 4 x 4.....that could take awhile, and they may only have a 50% chance at getting it right. Do all the steps right, then screw up the basic arithmetic. Sad!

    Oil Extractors?

Thanks for the info. I asked my dealer about pulling the plug on the F200 and they just looked at me funny. Said the extractor is the way to go. I too have some thoughts that I'd like to drain it all. But as SDMF said, I'm hardly touching the oil's life. I'm sure it's best to do when warm...

    Oil Extractors?

Seems I am seeing more and more that people are using oil extractors for oil changes. Does anyone use one regularly? My outboard (Yamaha F200) suggests using one to make the changes. I always thought draining made more sense, but what do I know? If you have one you use and like, please post...

Math issues? Common sense issues? where to start?

Don't get me wrong, I don't totally hate on investigations style math. I struggled with higher level math and believe some of the investigations style curriculum could have been extremely helpful to me. But, there are two main issues I see on a day to day basis. The first as I already...

Math issues? Common sense issues? where to start?

Lack of number sense, plain and simple, is a huge issue with our youth. I teach HS students basic technical math and it is incredible what I see. I'd say over 50% of my students could not tell me that .25, 1/4th, 25/100, and 250/1000 all represent the same thing. Fractions are incredibly...
