    New state record bighorn

Congrats Shawn! That's quite a specimen... The ram isn't bad either. #gingerbeardsmatter

    Smells

There are definitely some great nods in this thread so far. Cedar, or any cut wood is great. I also enjoy fresh cut corn silage on a crisp October morning. For some reason, I also dig Banana Boat Men's Triple Defence Sunscreen (reminds me of our last trip to Mexico)

    Thieving Bastards!

I shared a thread on Facebook from this Friday. Someone in our neighborhood (near Sunrise Elementary) had their glastron boat stolen from their driveway on Thursday night/Friday morning. That's just sad...

    Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I had known each other quite some time in college, when I finally got up the courage to ask her out on an official date I took her to The Turf for lunch and a beer. Kinda sad to see this place go up in flames, as it always reminds us of our first "date".

    Raft / Ice fishing LCD

I have a Helix 5 ice. Works well on my kayak and through the ice this past winter. Bought a suction cup transducer for open water. Fast functioning. Good battery life. Also purchased the Lakemaster chip.

    Personal Flotation Device

Both of those look like they'd work well. The one thing that I would stay away from is a life-vest that has a back floatation piece that goes past the shoulder blade region.

Wife broke land speed birth record

We have our #2 coming in just a few short days. Due date is July 12, but she's measuring and having some blood pressure issues, so is probably going to be coming early. Hope it all goes well for you DuckSlayer! I'll be in the same boat soon!

    Big-ass Handguns

    1. A 45-70 shot from a Sharps is actually quite manageable and fun it also makes you feel like Tom Selleck on Quigley Down Under 2. One of my most enjoyable deer hunts was with a pistol, so whatever you decide will be fun. My Dad didn't believe me that the mule deer would come into a...

    Tagged Fish

I would think you would have to have some proof of actually having the band in your possession or sending it in. If there is a reward simply for catching/reporting, then someone should catch the fish, write down the tag information, share it with all of us on NDA. That way we can all say we...

    Stuff they should make again...

I have that top, eel-looking crank bait at home right now. I pulled the treble off and my son uses it to chase around and torment the dog. I don't think I ever even casted it once. If you want, it's yours (my son might fight you for it though)

    Break out the long rods!!

I was over at Heskett last Saturday. It is open. Didn't get a bite, but was only there for a bit to scratch the itch.

    School holidays on the chopping~

I went to school where they had deer opener off of school. Not as a "holiday" but they just knew that almost the entire school would have their parents sign them out as "sick" and we'd all go hunting anyways. That is quite a contrast to not having Christmas off... Weird world we are living in...

Born's Garlic and Honey sausage seasoning

We have used it the past two years and have been very impressed. We don't use quite a much garlic as the recipe calls for however. I think for our 75 lbs of smoked country style sausage (that was 50/50 deer:Pork) we used 24 ounces. We used about 2 pounds of honey. The garlic adds a nice...

    Ready for Action!

But were they blaze orange fedora hats? Did you see any Connecticut #10 or Benelli #11 O/U shotguns? Did their brush pants match their Italian leather shoulder padded $1000 game vests?

    my pillow

I agree with DirtyMike-- I turn a lot of patients towards them (or similar shredded, latex-based foam pillows) as well. It seems that they hold a good mixture of both comfort and support for most side sleepers. The foam can also be pressed aside and thinned out a bit for back-sleepers.
