    2020 Open Water - I'm Ready...Already

I believe I got it at hobby lobby. My wife designed something then cut it out. Haven’t caught a ton of walleyes on them but the smallmouth bass sure love them.

    2020 Open Water - I'm Ready...Already

I have a machine in my basement that can cut thicker plastic out. I found what plastic is close to being used, made some modifications to the blade and poof! magic.

    2020 Open Water - I'm Ready...Already

I need to change oil and gear case lube and I am ready to go. I need to cut out some more smile blades and tie a couple harnesses. I should be fishing sometime in March I think. I’m from the Lake Erie region and have been toying with the idea of fishing there in the spring.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the cost per sq ft that you built it for?

    Concrete home

My thoughts were to build the foundation and exterior of the house with the ICF forms and then frame the interior walls out of dimensional lumber. I have no clue if that’s the right or wrong way to do it. Just a mere thought that came into my mind.

    Concrete home

Lycanthrope's thread about heating with coal/geothermal got me thinking.... Has anyone around NW ND built a home out of concrete with ICF insulation? What kind of building price per sq ft did you see? From what I see there are numerous benefits to this as in reduced heating and cooling costs...

    Gee Loomis...

I've switched from the Cabelas brand rods to all Fenwick. I'm excited to see how they perform once the ice gets out. Or, I may be able to see about dragging the boat out of storage and hitting the tailrace up.

Another vote for Ebeneer's and Mi Mexico. I've never been disappointed by those two choices.

    Leaving vehicle plugged in

Thanks for the advice fellas. I have an optima red top battery in it and it’s never failed to start. I guess I just got a little apprehensive letting a vehicle sit for an extended period of time. I’ll let it ride and see what happens.

    Leaving vehicle plugged in

I just bought a new to me vehicle that I'll use as a daily driver. I am going to keep my pickup truck and only drive it 1-2 times a week. Is it safe to leave a vehicle plugged in for an extended period of time? I will be going on a vacation at some point this winter and don't want to come home...

    No Drink January

It's been almost 12 years since I drank heavily. I will occasionally have 1 or 2 on a social basis. For the most part I have no problem drinking coffee or mtn dew while others drink beer/whisky. For me, my mom was a habitual drug user and once she completed her rehab program, I vowed to stay...

    Decade of reflections

As my 2019 comes to a close, I thought it'd be kind of cool to reflect on what what this decade has provided me. It's been a decade of ups and downs but in the end I am a better and happier person I think. My wife and I started a family, bought our own house, I graduated from college, and I...
