Curious...where did you find the rifle, Trapper? Kind of peaked my interest. Think I can fit another rifle in my safe...

    Savage Axis II XP?

I had 3 rifles to buy at the same time, so had a budget to consider. Was looking at the Savage Axis II, the Remington 783, and the Mossberg Patriot. Savage was the clear winner IMO. Bought 3 in 243 and have been pleased with all of them. Two only have paper kills since deer tags don't come...

Land in 2G for youngsters to rifle hunt.

Hope your hunter(s) had some luck over the weekend. I wasn't able to get my son out as much as we hoped between work on Saturday and uncooperative pickup on Monday. Kids have a school function this Saturday, so don't want to keep someone else from benefitting from your offer if they are able...

I'd just put a heavy layer of that pink Himalayan salt on it, let it sit for a week in the hot sun, then throw it out and eat my well done steak.

Section lines are open game. Meant to be driven on. Slot limits don't mean much to me, as I'm not the kind of guy who catches fish. From SE ND. Figured the steak thing would chap some hides on here, so better get it out there.

Sounds good to me. We'll see how we hold up in the cold this weekend. The deer stand might seem like a more inviting option after Monday.

Epstein almost certainly got whacked, but was a sack of shit, so I'm ok with it. Would've been nice to see him take a few down with him, but... A guy who shoots Savage rifles probably doesn't care much about sparkles... Deer baiting: I don't own land, so not my thing. If you do, and want to lay...

Land in 2G for youngsters to rifle hunt.

I've got a 14 year old that has a struck out the last 2 years. Hasn't had a shot at anything under 150 at a dead run. Would be interested in 3rd weekend if available. Kind of want to stomp around the first two.

I'll start off by saying I'm a fan of Savage rifles. Four 17 HMRs, one 17WSM, three 243s, one 270, and one 223 (don't love this one). I don't recall the other questions typically thrown at us newbies, so I'll leave it at that. I have three boys involved in everything (it seems), so our time...
