Time to buy a new pickup?

I have about 28k on a 2018 F150 Powerstroke. I absolutely love it. Like all full sized trucks mileage is incredibly dependent on wind; but I have broke 30mpg from Bis-DL one trip and have never been below 18 hwy driving. Pulling 21ft glass last summer for 4 days along the Mo River I sat 13-15...

    Open water electronic's~

Actually, Merc has a 450 out of their racing division. Smiles per gallon must be thought about because MPG would just be depressing. Garmin just came up with a LS update that increases the number of views. You do need to mount the ducer differently though. Reports are a new LS competing...

    2020 Open Water - I'm Ready...Already

New Yar 219 is scheduled to be here in about 3 weeks. Maiden voyage may be to Green Bay in April. Rebuilt the floor, stringers and supports in the 88 Yar over the last 2 months. Ordered about 2K in tackle. I have been ready for open water since December 1st. I haven't ice fished 1 time this...

    How to slow my troll

I have the same problem as you with my 16ft Yar with a 90. Last summer I used the Ahab mentioned method; and although it works it was not ideal. 2 Amish bags off the front (small size bags) have been used for years with success. The 2 bags is a better option than 1 because 1 will drag the...

    Gee Loomis...

I used to build rods myself. I'm more of a demo derby guy so my end result fit and finish wasn't what I had hoped for and I didn't love doing it so I quit. I choose high end rods off the rack because I like to feel them in my hands, weight, balance, etc before forking over $200-$400...

    Alumacraft Tournament Pro boat

A boat of that vintage will have wood. Check floors and transoms very well. If you can remove anything from the transom and check for rot or moisture it will help. Floor areas prone to rot are corners that lack drainage. Other than that have the motor looked over well with compression tests...

    Gee Loomis...

My favorites for casting are my Loomis and JT Black Reign (depends on what I am throwing). Favorite for jigging is another Loomis. Favorite for trolling is the Black Reign Ascendant 8 footer. Now that I am not guiding I break ALOT fewer rods and have switched over from moderately priced rods...

    Decade of reflections

10 years ago I was divorced with an empty nest, no animals, a job that with an employer I lacked trust in, a decent boat, shattered relationships abounded, and had a TINY home in W. Fgo. Fast forward to now and I am remarried, 2 kids in home full time, 1 off and on, 2 intermittent foster kids...

    Tires and rims

Many take-off are priced as high as aftermarket. I have had great luck with Wheelfire. I preferred calling them and having them send me an email with available wheel options in the size, backspacing, and price-point I specified. Id review options and then call them back to order.

    Shock Absorbing Boat Seats

The 2nd generation Smoothe Moves with the air bladder are a different animal than their 1st generation. No more rebound that dang near launches you out of the boat. I have been in boats with Airwaves and Wave Pros and will take the Smoothe Moves over both all day every day.

    Ice reports?

Had the boat out on Devils Lake Saturday. Pushed a lot of ice. May try it again this coming weekend if I am able (unlikely though). Most all feeder lakes are locked up but I haven't heard thickness reports.
