Family Motor Coach Associate takes over the ND State Fairgrounds

Was in Minot on Monday and already I could not believe the amount of RV's in town. Traffic might be a PITA for a few days but overall it's good for the state and for Minot. Hope they all have fun and spend some of that out-of-state money.

    Pellet Smokers.....which one?

I have a Traeger and love it. I can't compare it to any other brand as it's the only pellet grill I've ever used. So, I do like the Traeger but cannot say it's any better than some others. Just find it so easy to use from smoke to grilling. Great flavor and easy to use. Did use it in the winter...

    Boat Insurance

I have rarely found a reason to complain about my insurance agent or the coverage when I've had a loss. Knock on wood. Agent has always went to bat for me and companies have been fair. That being said, my insurance is not anywhere close to cheap and do try to keep the premium down by having a...

    Blue Law bye bye

Family time is important. But requiring that time to be on Sunday isn't any different than requiring businesses to be closed on Sunday. Family time is the time spent together as a family, not necessarily on a specific day.

    Insulation question

I think everybody's correct above. Condensation could be a problem. Condensation is created when cold air and warm air meet. If the closed cell foam is properly installed and sealed in the rafters there will be no cold air coming in. I'm guessing the closed cell would work better in the rafters...

Public land locked by private land question

Don't know which county you are in but in the county where I live very few section lines are closed. As I understand it, it's much more difficult to open a section line once closed. For this reason the commissioners are hesitant to close those lines. Because of that it should be very easy to get...

Chicken Wangs - It's what's for SUPPER at Metigoshe ... and tomorrow's DINNER

This sounded really good, right up until the Lemon Meringue Pie came out. Have never thought lemons belong in any pie. It's one of my wife's favorites so I am happy to let her have the whole pie. I'lll stick to using a little tequila with lemonade. Everything else sounded delicious.

hotels in North Dakota for fishing trips

I don't cross at Pembina much but I don't ever have a problem crossing the border. Don't lie to the agents and as long as you have proper identification it shouldn't be a problem. Don't have much trouble coming back either but if there is an issue, it's usually on the US side for me. Get caught...

    Sitka fishing

Fished out of Sitka many years ago. Fished in July and kings were mostly gone, Did catch a few but a pretty good silver bite a few days. Halibut were plentiful and fun. Caught several ling cod and thought, "that is an ugly fish" so threw them back. Learned later that were supposed to be very...

    Snoodie Goes To Alaska

Been to Alaska one on fishing trip. Had a friend who had their own boat. Definitely should be on everyone who likes to fish bucket list. Halibut, king salmon, silver salmon, yellow eyes, and other fish I've forgotten. Great time.

    Results are out

Agree completely, I guess my comment was more in line with, "It's not the end of the world to me. Had a MD buck tag last year and have grandkids I can tag along with this year." One other point that makes the 'no deer tag' palatable is I do have an elk tag. Please don't feel sorry for me as...

    Results are out

I was lucky, don't need to plan on vacation time or where I should go to hunt. No tags so no need to take time off. Wait, I'm retired so wouldn't have needed to arrange time off. Now I'm disappointed. Life goes on. Most of you don't remember the days when not receiving a tag was rare. I think...

    ND Kayak fishing buddies?

Fully understand the problems with the rules as some lakes are very busy with watercraft and not much room. A prime example is the Missouri River, especially in the Bismarck area. The river isn't wide enough in some areas to follow the rules. That is why common sense is better but as I...

    ND Kayak fishing buddies?

There are rules about how close one boat is supposed to to to another. Don't remember the exact numbers but it is far enough away that the wake of a jet-ski should not capsize a kayak. Wake boats might be another story but the rules are the same. What works better than rules is common sense but...

    Chicken it was for supper

My grandmother used to calling older hens "roasting hens." Usually cooked, or roasted them like a turkey. Also made homemade chicken/noodle soup with them. No French ingredients in them at all. Just good old home-cooking Now as I age I do agree that the proper spices, as well as some smoke, can...

    Burke County Wind Farm Denied

From a different standpoint. How does a bird ( or most birds) ever fly into a windmill? They turn at a very slow speed, regardless of the wind speed. An eagle or hawk can spot a mouse in the areas from a 100' in the air but can't see the blades of turbine? Whether you like the looks of them is...

Peta is asking fishermen to be vegan

WTH. It's hard to believe that a college professor "developed life skills training" for salmonoids. Were the then released into the ocean to train other fish? More than likely the are still locked up in their cages where they will spend the rest of their lives, never to see their friends and...

    Half tons & Campers

For sure you can pull a camper with a 1/2 ton pickup. Because you can, doesn't mean you should. Some have talked about beefing up there 1/2 tons and adding coolers etc. Seems like with some modifications to the 1/2 ton you're approaching a 3/4 ton. I'd be willing to bet that everyone who pulled...

That doesn't look very good. Bring it over to my place and I'll discard it for you. No thanks will be necessary.
