    Bitcoin

Seriously what stops a guy from making up his own new crypto currency? Not many are backed by anything other than air. If you look at who owns a majority of the bitcoin by only a few people you can’t tell me that doesn’t sound fishy. - - - Updated - - - If I got in cheap on bitcoin and I could...

    Water headed for Sakakawea?

    Looking for a new rod

Picked up a cheap 7’ medium heavy combo on a work trip because I wanted to do some fishing. This Diawa combo was only $19.99 and is a two piece. Didn’t catch anything with it but it fished pretty well for a very cheap combo. I’m trying to figure out how to rig one of my new Gloomis rods I got...

    Help with plastics for walleyes....

Anyone see the 15 pound monster that came out of the east end of Sak?!?!? What a monster! It was caught on a Berkley swim bait rig and a power bait HD purple smelt. I saw those plastics in the store last week and after this story I’ll be going back to get me a pack. The perch pattern looks...

Is it immoral to drive an electric vehicle?

You know you should question something when the other side is unwilling to debate and proceeds to hurl insults to those questioning the sole called settled science…….

“Watsons outdoor related contributions to NDA”

Who is the dingbat who posts a bunch of new threads all the time of a random YouTube video with barely a sentence of context??? Seriously click on them all the time just to go back to the recent activity listing with more of the land mines……..

    Audubon transition?

Audubon is a good lake to ice fish so it would be sad to see the walleyes go. Has the walleye fishing fallen off or are they reproducing on their own?

    Help with plastics for walleyes....

How are you fishing them? I pop it off the bottom and let it fall and hit the bottom. I mainly use plastics in the spring when the bite is hot but I have learned that live bait can sometimes be the ticket. Last weekend could not get a bite on plastics, switched to minnow and limited out in under...

    Electric trolling motors

Anyone know the difference between the Terrova and Power drive models that both come with ipilot and a universal transducer? Is the Terrova worth the extra $$$$?

    SD Nonresident Fishing License ...WOW$$

This is how it works at state parks in WY. Pay an annual pass or pay for a daily pass in a drop box. Don’t get caught without a pass! - - - Updated - - - Local gas stations and bait shops could sell the passes. Enforcement would be tough if there isn’t a park Ranger or management to do it.

Is our food source in jeopardy?

Ethanol has caused higher corn prices which has lead to higher feed costs to dairy farms which have driven many out of business. Row crop farmers have benefited from higher prices but in the end someone ends up suffering. Not the biggest fan of ethanol but I do under the implications of losing...

    Buying a boat.

Anyone ever fished out of an Alumacraft Voyageur 175? Looking at one with a 115 Suzuki in the lower $30’s. Looks to have plenty of space for a 17’ boat, it’s a little narrower than the Competitor and Trophy.

    Buying a boat.

I would like a 18’ or bigger boat but I can manage with a 17’. I wish I fished enough to justify a 18-20’ boat. Used a 17’ for years on Sak and made it work. I’m fine with not going too far on windy days if I’m dead set on fishing in those conditions. Been out many days in a 16-17’ boat in...

    Casting rod

Big thing to note is the Scheels warranties are not as good anymore. For $200-$300 I expect a lifetime warranty and you no longer get that from Scheels. Decent rods even in the cheaper models.

    Lithium Deep Cycle Batteries

I don’t drain my ordinary batteries now so lithium is overkill. They make sense for the people who fish a ton or for a living, but overkill for the weekend warrior.

    Cranking Battery

I have used car batteries before but only on small boats with only a depth finder or two hooked up for electronics and a small motor. Never had an issue unless the boat sat for awhile and the battery drained. I would not use a car battery in a big boat with more power draw

    Casting rod

Get a rod that has a lifetime warranty which rules all Scheels rods out. Gloomis, Fenwick and St Croix are all good rods
