Feral Pig Sightings Must be Reported

A genuine FL redneck told me they used to fill a clay pigeon with miracle whip and toss them out randomly. Putrified miracle whip draws the pigs in and the clay pigeon is toxic as hell to hogs. Guys I work with in TX eat them all the time. They get so bad they sometimes hire a trapper to come in...

    POLITICAL tire talk

I didn't pick the name. Was told the Duratracs are being phased out. Going on a "work truck". Had both Silent Armors and Duratracs. Silent Armors sucked in the mud and snow. Duratracs were pretty good but only lasted about 30k. 90 percent of my miles are gravel or dirt and I live in Walsh County...

    POLITICAL tire talk

Just put a set of Fierce Attitudes on my F250 work truck. Aggressive as hell. Some sidewall flex. Scares the hell out of you when you throw a rock at highway speeds. I just noticed a zit on the side of my truck the other day that came from the inside.

    Fisher

River Otters have been spotted in the English Coulee before. I remember seeing them years ago hanging out in the coulee by the "Carpet Garage?"(old roller rink).

Yeah, there's some nasty stuff out there. Even some of the more common stuff is bad. Been buzzed by having a drop of Eptam blown in my face once. Another time it was Ben's mosquito repellent. Was wiping some on my face and grazed the corner of my mouth. Dizzy and numb face for about half and...

    Driving in the left lane

Does Illinois still have the 55mph speed limit for anything pulling a trailer? I've had to pull a car trailer through there a few times and that really sucked.

    favorite semi auto shotgun

Have to agree with the Berreta 391. I grew up with a hand me down Rem Sportsman 58. The 391 was the closest thing I could find for fit and feel to the 58. Shot a buddy's new style A5, seemed ok to me. Maybe a little lower line of sight than the 391 if I remember correctly.

    Mosquito control

Was in Menards in Grand Forks this morning. They have it for $9 with a free aerosol can with it as well. Picked a couple up to try out.

    Mosquito control

I'm on my third one. They last a couple years. Make sure you do it well beforehand. I fog the bushes and tall grass. They're effective for 3-4 hours. More on calm days when the bugs don't get blown in. My first one turned into a flame thrower, second one wouldn't pump anymore and have yet to use...

    Mosquito control

I use mosquito dunks in the ponds around my yard. For big occasions, I spray malithion with the four wheeler, black flag yard fogger into the trees and bushes around the cooking/fire pit area and half a dozen tiki torches with citronella fuel.

Forgot to mention the safety aspect. It's a million times better that even what it was in the 70 & 80's. I remember my dad coming in from spraying with a open cab spray coupe. He'd be stained red or yellow down his back depending on if he was spraying wheat or beans. Now sprayer cabs have...

You don't have to be a farmer. Just need to have pesticide handler training or commercial applicators license. Some of the reasons for not being available to the public are application areas. You don't want to have kids or pets running through the stuff. Some have restrictions on how long before...

    BBQ pulled pork

In case the pork does get on the dry side, I've used chicken stock to get the moisture back. Neutral enough in flavor as not to even notice it. A good cole slaw is a must have. I recommend Jimmy's brand dressing if you don't make your own. I usually offer a few different sauces on the side...

    Ultimate Fishing Fails

Fishing the Red when I was about 13-14 years old. We used to use old spark plugs out of our snowmobiles for weights. I got snagged up and had 20lb test on. I stretched and stretched that line and it wouldn't break. It finally pulled loose and I took a J8 plug right to the kneecap.
