    Check and clean the contacts where the foot pedal plugs into the trolling motor. When I ran that unit and would loose my steering, that was the problem.

    Had a conversation with a good friend about this a few .months ago. He said go to mayo in Mesa. They accept most insurance, you stay a coup!e weeks in a warm place before going home, and care is the top notch. ND surgeons do a couple knees a month, mesa surgeons a couple a week.

    Like others have said, always upstream first slowly, mark any rocks or dead head logs. I just fish my way up stream. Get your route upstream on GPS.... So you can get back downstream using your track. Don't be afraid to follow another boat, but don't follow to close in case they find trouble...

    I see both sides of this coin. Technology has created a convenient excuse to close the schools. There is a bigger lesson in getting to school during a storm and that is...sometimes life is hard but the work needs to get done and it can get done....It's just going to take a little more effort...
