    Lakemaster v5 vs. v6

Can anyone speak to the benefit of upgrading to Lakemaster Dakotas/Nebraska v6? I know v5 only had Sak out to 41 feet, did they get that upgraded? Any other lakes they improved? Is it worth the money?

    Block ice

I tried something over the Labor Day weekend....I filled vacuum sealer bags with water and froze / re-froze them. I cut them to the exact length of my cooler so they didn't slide around. I made sure they fit in the garage freezer too. It's a two-person job to seal them because of the weight...

    And just like that.

And then..... we are supposed to fly OUR US FLAG at half mast! Didn't we kick British ass a few years ago so we don't have to kiss it any more. My flag only gets lowered for Americans....and not all of them.

    Skeeters

Yes...they've been brutal the last 2-3 nights. In the Hay Creek area by the walking paths about mid-summer, I did see Parks and Rec drive the paths with a mobile fogging unit, but I doubt they'll be out again. I want to say the city did aerial spraying in the past but not sure.

What was your 1st boat, ever?

I grew up on a lake in northern MN and was on the water alone by age 10. First boat was a 1980 12 foot Alumacraft with a 5 horse Johnson and rocks in the bow so it would plane out. I remember getting my watercraft operator permit in the spring of 1982, when 12 was the youngest age you could take...

    Help - Rebuild Resources Page

I use NDAWN locations for live wind speeds and temperatures. They are slowly adding more sites, but what they have now gives plenty of options. https://ndawn.ndsu.nodak.edu/

    Things you eat/make while camping

I had this idea two years ago, I call them fire-pit waffle cones: Buy a box of waffle cones and fill one with bananas, marshmallows, little peanut butter cups, rolos, chocolate syrup...whatever you want. Wrap the filled cone with tinfoil and set it in the fire for about 15-20 minutes or long...

    Dipsy Divers for Walleyes

I struggle with the snubber concept. Seems counter productive to putting a book through a fish's lip, but every thing I read says usd a snubber. I'll probably experiment and see what the difference is. - - - Updated - - - I'm going to start with my MH downrigger rods too. Fireline direct with...

    Dipsy Divers for Walleyes

Rod weight is my question too. I wouldn't think you'd need a medium heavy rod unless it was the magnum size and you were going 80-100 feet down. Would think a medium weight on a #0 should work down to 40 or so feet. KDM what did you guys usd?

    Dipsy Divers for Walleyes

Anyone tried running dipsy divers for walleyes this time of year on the big lake? Common this time of year on the great lakes when the fish move deep. Thinking of giving it a try.

    Boat Cover

Had mine done at Outlaw Tarps in Mandan and Justin is a great guy. He is busy, but if you can wait, he does great work. I like his belief that a properly made travel tarp doesn't need bungie cords...my tarp has a single velcro strap on each side. FYI he is also an authorized repair center for...

    I need a seasickness solution

You can go buy dramamine at a pharmacy, or get some scopolamine patches at the pharmacy, you'll need a prescription for scopolamine, but most doctors won't require a office visit. Benadryl will also work to some extent as it is a similar compound to dramamine, but will obviously make you drowsy...

    Trailer storage during college

I would stop and visit with any of the boat dealers, ACME, GF Gun Club or other places along Hwy 2. Let them know your situation they'll help you out, or know someone who could.
