    Help needed retrieving elk

so here's the story...I headed out Friday morning and was up on Magpie road. As I was getting my pack on a guy stopped to ask if I was after elk or deer. As soon as I said elk he indicated he has just watched a herd walking a ridge. He walked in with me for a bit to make sure I was headed in the...

    Help needed retrieving elk

We ended up with a handful of guys to walk in this morning and get what's he left of him. Assuming the coyotes had a feast last night as he was about half boned out when the ticker acted up. I appreciate all the offers of assistance.

    E3/4 Elk?

Been all over...up North on the East side. Down south around Hanley Plateau. West side from the interstate to way up North. Just scratching our heads at this point. My son got his two years ago and we saw more in four days then than I have in over a dozen trips this time. Lots of boots on...

    E3/4 Elk?

Anyone seen any Elk in E3 or E4? I have a bull tag that I have been trying to fill. I also know another hunter that has a cow tag. I have been putting on the miles hard the last month and I have not seen anything. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Water Hammer; what’s the fix

The ones I have used feature a sliding piston with a couple of O-rings for seals. Those eventually wear out and the hammer returns. Totally my fault for buying the cheapest ones available!

    Water Hammer; what’s the fix

They make hammer arrestors...just put them on the water line coming into the toilet. Our washer was so bad that I actually ended up putting two arrestors on. Seems that they go bad about every 5 years or so. Would shutting the tap down a bit on the toilet help this? Would take your toilet...

I have the Viper HD's in 15X. Love the clarity but wish I would have done with a bit less magnification.

    Spotting Scope Recommendations

What's everyone using? Looking to stay in the $800-1000 range. Do you prefer angled or straight eyepiece? Mainly going to be used in the badlands stalking. Thoughts?

    Savage or Tikka?

Fusions were just alright. 180 Federal trophy bonded tops came in second with 180 fusions coming in third. Based on average group size (six 3 shot groups) All were extremely accurate and would have gotten the job done. I drank the TSX koolaid.

    Savage or Tikka?

not a reloaded so shot through around 7-8 factory loads to find the one the rifle liked. This was my sons best group at 200 yards (shooting from a led sled).

    Savage or Tikka?

I was in your exact same predicament last year. Went with a tikka 300 WSM shooting 165 gr Barnes TTSX's. The tikka loved them and they performed perfectly.

    Traeger or Green Egg

If anyone decides to buy a large BGE, I have a stand that I will make you a heck of a deal on. Got my egg and used the stand for about a month before I decided to get a table for it.

    Traeger or Green Egg

BGE all the way. Love mine. Nothing beats searing a steak at 800 plus degrees. I used to do all my smoking in a Bradley smoker, but prefer the BGE for flavor. Downside is the price...accessories are pricey but should last forever.

    Need a new FoodSaver recommendation

After burning through three $150-200 sealers I got fed up and ordered a Vacmaster 215. Pricey but worth it. super fun to watch water boil due to reduced pressure.

    Building a new house

We love ours. Not common to see but if it's new construction, I would do it in a heartbeat if you can install while the walls are still open. We put ours in in about 3 hours and had about 250 bucks into it (not counting head unit). The new units have tons of suction so the issues with long runs...
