    2020 Muzzleloader tag

I was also lucky enough to draw a muzzleloader tag this season with 9 points. I have 3-4 family members with more points than me, and 3-4 with a few points less. Lots of reviews out there but I am biting the bullet and getting the Remington 700 ultimate muzzleloader. Splitting it 2-3 ways with...

    Newest Additions (Vintage Airplanes)

Dad came out rather well on this one. Total investment including buying the project should come out around $41,000-$42,000. Extremely happy to get it done for that price. 1000 hours of labor or so, so far though. It was a complete basket case and not a "regular" restoration by any means.

Hey Tom, Hows the weather ?

Multiple reports out of variety of areas near Killdeer showing 4+ inches. 1.10 or so at the house this morning when I left for work. Talked to parents in Hazen, showing 2.20 inches so far, and that was an hour ago.

    Vacation homes

My in-laws retired down there have a nice place in the hills. They are renting out the house this year for Sturgis. Get a rental company to take care of it, its really not a big headache at all. During Sturgis my in-laws will stay in their nice motorhome in the shop down below the house. Think...

Drew first choice rifle buck, and also drew Muzzy buck tag with 9 points, along with a bow tag. Going to be a busy fall.

2020 Halibut out of Seward Alaska

The key to getting the halibut home at a half ass decent price? Buy some cheap ass coolers up there. Find a local freezer and have fish froze for a day or two. Think we paid about $1 per pound to have it froze for a few days. Load up coolers and make sure weight is legit right under 50 lbs. Pay...

    DIY Menards Steel Gutters?

Every place I've called is $12-15 a foot. Aluminum or steel. IF I do decide to do it myself, I will have about 3 of us there doing it. I'll also have an electric scissor lift and scaffolding. Going to get a few more quotes and probably decide in next few weeks or so.

    DIY Menards Steel Gutters?

About $1000 for having someone coming in and do it vs about $300 for me doing it. Quotes varied about $100 up or down.

    DIY Menards Steel Gutters?

You are correct. The quote was for 5 inch aluminum gutters. For some reason we seem to get hail at our place. All roofs on all buildings have been replaced 3 out of 5 last years, and the current roof on the garage is 27g. Thinking the 28g steel gutters would be better than the aluminum overall...

    DIY Menards Steel Gutters?

Good morning, Curious if anyone has done their own DIY gutters from Menards? Got a few quotes on seem-less gutters for my 28x36 garage. While the quoted prices seemed ok, I thought I'd check into doing it myself. I'm looking at the 6 inch K style steel. Yes, it'll have one splice in it for...

    Food plot question

DB, I bought a hand broadcast spreader, made by "Solo". Been very happy with it so far, will plant a wide variety of sized seeds. Runs about $50. I have a 4 row corn, bean and sunflower planter with the variety of plates. Had a guy in Fargo custom make it for me. Works great. I'm slowly getting...

    Food plot question

Yep. Spray the beans at a foot tall a week or two prior to clover seeding, and then over-seed before a rain. I did some brassica over-seeding with some rather great/insane results. Turnips, radishes, rape, kale. The brassicas grew to the same height as the beans in 5-6 weeks and it was an...

New Pole Barn is Up - Lighting Suggestions/Options Needed

Pic heavy updates with OSB and lumber ran, along with bringing in 65ish tons of sand. I ordered in some 4x10 sheets of OSB from Menards. Since the poles were every 5 feet there was no cutting. Ran a chalk line and then put them up. Took about 2 hours to do the entire building. The end walls...

    Newest Additions (Vintage Airplanes)

I believe, not 100% sure, but I think its called a Concorde RG25 battery, 12V. This particular Supercub has an alternator and starter. Most Supercubs did (some of the first/early 95 hp supercubs did not). Some of the different variations of motors did not allow for the use of a starter, but...

    Newest Additions (Vintage Airplanes)

Some updated photos. Motor is hung. We also hung the wings Saturday and rigged those yesterday to current Supercub specs. Those are still uncovered as dad is running the wing cables this week, tank fitting and a few other things. Wings will then be taken off and covered and painted. After that...

Time to buy a new pickup?

There is 4 mpgs difference between the Chev and Ford 1/2 ton diesels. Even as a ford guy the gm stuff rides better down the highway and that's what Id mainly be looking for.
