This will be our new dog in a few weeks. She was about 3 weeks old in this picture. It's been a couple years since we had to put our last Golden down at a little over 17 years old. The kids are super anxious for a new dog. Her name will be Nico.
We've fished 8 inch for the last 3 years on Winnipeg with no problems. We've lost fish on the bottom of 10 inch holes as well as 8. We've lost a few fish in the 8 inch hole and they just come up to the top eventually like someone else mentioned.
I agree with Brad and Captain on this too. This is about Red River fishing only. Why not be able to buy suckers at Cabela's and bring them across the bridge to fish in the red. It would be the same sucker if I launched on the MN side in front of Cabela's anyway. But there is no Minnesota launch...
I lost my iPhone X down the hole Saturday night as well. Jigged for it for a few hours with no luck. A camera would have been nice. Of course my Applecare plan does not cover a lost device, so that was a nice $1000 mistake.
People come from all over the US and parts of the world to fish those two lakes. I don't think we know how lucky we have it!! When an absolute moron can fish almost any technique and catch walleye I would consider that a world-class fishery. I know I consider myself super luck that I am a max 3...
I don't know what is going on in Grand Forks either. First we lost Macy's, then Sears, Pier 1, Hornbachers, and now K-mart is closing in a couple months.
Lakewood makes a nice ice case as well. Their specialty is musky fishing cases.
A couple of my buddies have a case that fits on the Otter ATV Monster Box. They added some chains so when it opens the bottom stops horizontal. Pretty slick as well.
I actually love shopping...the busier and more people the better. But then I did used to work at the Mall of America, that place is nuts around Christmas! I pride myself on finding unique and thoughtful gifts for my wife...it pays dividends throughout the year.
Zippel Bay is so much fun. Sometimes hard to catch fish because of all the traffic, but it's a fun experience with the traffic signs, ice bar, and some pretty good grub and nice cabins back on shore. It'll cost ya, though.
You're getting spoiled when those fish are considered a slow weekend, haha. It's still fishing, even up there, and the high pressure probably didn't help you out much.
Snow-wise right now you don't need them. They are nice for going over pressure ridges and to help distribute the weight. Of course, you could be hit by a storm while you're up there....just never know. But the ice is real nice up there, froze pretty smooth for the most part this year, a lot like...
We've used the Fuel drill setup to fish Winnipeg the last two years with zero issues. Easy on the body and the ATV mounts as well compared to gas. It's an 8 inch hole, but that has never been an issue yet either. We've had some fish get off in the hole, but with an 8 they're not going anywhere...
I have been an iPhone user for many years but just learned of this trick today and thought I would share. Perhaps many of you know it already, but I didn't and it seems like it will be very handy.
When your typing, say in a text, and you want to move the cursor, just hold the space bar down...
Too bad the last two former Sioux coaches couldn't quite make it big in the NHL, but they're set for life anyway if they play their cards right. He still lives here in the summer in a house that has probably long been paid for, and he seems pretty grounded to me. I found it very interesting that...
