    Favorite Fish Batter?

We like the Louisiana fish fry mix. Usually soak fish in beer for about 30 minutes and then toss in dry mix, prefer that over mixing the batter. Most of the commercial stuff is way too salty for our tastes, especially the shore lunch. We will also use jiffy corn mix and put in lemon pepper...

Lake Sakakawea - Local nickname locations of fishing spots???

From the sounds of things, seems like it does not matter where you go, unless you are with me. I have been on an epic pike bite. Going to take the wife out tomorrow for her first ever Sakakawea trip and only 2nd time out since we moved here. Probably New Town.

    Question for the Lawn Experts

Could be nitrogen, Svns chicken shi'ite will work, make sure it is well aged. We had grass that turned light green due to iron deficiency. Lawn guy put chelated iron on it and by the end of the day it was dark green. Alternate method would be to stop watering and fish more.

    Established trails in the badlands

I'd be happy to direct you to a spot where I sat last year with my doe tag and had a really, really nice whitetail buck feeding broadside for almost an hour. Saw plenty (lots) of does and smaller bucks around on every parcel we hunted. Unit 4F, not quite the badlands though

    Anyone looking for work?

What of all the black cattle? I see little bull calves that must learn to rely on their moms to learn to butt heads and other things because they have no father around to show them the ropes. Sad times.

    IL Deer Hunting

I imagine it is a lot like Ohio, tons of small properties and any of them can cough up a 150 or much bigger, on any given day. The deer there are crafty, have nerves of steel and will stay in places you would never think they would. Land there has gone up, leases are becoming more common and...

Lake Sakakawea - Local nickname locations of fishing spots???

It is a scenic lake and those were great pics. I recognize a couple spots, only taken 3 summers. Might be fun to make up names of spots for reports.

    fishing tourney question...

I would not mind fishing a tourney or 3, especially with my son as he gets older. I want a 21 footer because I can take my entire family out (5) and not feel crammed on board and yeah we could do a 19 and make it work but I am no longer a settler; so no more grey water soup, cabbages and family...

    Lawn chairs

Best bet would to pick one, send it to me and if it lasts a weekend, buy more. I like the ones with the side tray, usually 1- 1.5" tubular steel, heavier canvas type material and no bags.
