    Daylight saving time

It was the winter of '73/'74 and we were in Rock Springs, Wy. where I worked on a chemical plant out by Little America. I think the Feds started DST early in February of '74 (not kept it all year round from the fall.) There were a lot of school children that lived on ranches out of town that...

    Buying gold and silver.

Couple of thoughts 1. I always thought of precious metals as JUST a hedge against inflation, never something that will go up on price because of demand. The exception would be in the 70's when the Hunt brothers tried to corner the silver market and failed. In doing so the price of silver...

    You shoot like.....

I also went 5 for 5 in SD when I first bought a pump, twice. (party hunting in legal in SD) [(so if there are 10 guys in a group, you could shoot all 30 and the group is limited)] Just like CA a few years ago, Game and Fish started to allow boat limits on fishing. It was really pushed by...

    Snorkel Gear

If the beach consists of sharp coral, buy booties with soles. This will influence the fins that you use. With soles you need a larger fin size. Nobody I dived with use full-foot fins, only fins with an adjustable back strap. My fins are IDI.

Seems to me that the paving contractor would have clear grounds to sue for excess costs if the temperatures were below what the specifications allow paving to be installed.

Never saw a contract without it!

    Plenty wet over here.

I don't believe that. Neither the Inspecting Agency nor the installing Contractor will work in freezing conditions when they know the their work will fail and need to be re-done the next year. No Contractor can afford to do that and no Inspection Agency would agree to re-imburse a Contractor...

If the road is ready to pave it is a good gravel road now. Leave it gravel over the winter and repair any soft spots that show up in the spring and then pave. You'll have a better road in the long run. I know that the folks that have to use the gravel road all winter will not like it but in...

    Plenty wet over here.

In 40 years in construction I have never seen a construction contract that did not have a clause for delays due to excessive rainfall/moisture problems. You have to include average anticipated rainfall/moisture in your schedule, but when you can point to more than the 10 year average rainfall...

    UND fighting Sioux mens hockey

I think that that is part of the thrill of D1 college hockey ... any one of the schools in a good season has a chance of a NATIONAL Championship. Tell me an FCS school that will ever beat one of these last 18 FBS National Championship teams for the D1 National Championship football title...

    UND fighting Sioux mens hockey

Duluth IS a powerhouse college D1 hockey school and is the 2 time defending NCAA National Champs. Their coach, Scott Sandelin played hockey for UND from 1982 - 1986. I think his son is playing for UM Mankato. At least I think they mentioned a player named Sandelin during tonight's game...

Can you imagine the recruiting difficulties the 2 Alaska schools have. Probably a minimum of a 5-6 hour flight if they are playing a Colorado school, Denver, CC and Air Force - all a 3 hour time change. If they play a WCHA conference game in Central time it is a 4 hour time change and an ET...
