No problem Bullsnake!! Biggest thing in my mind, assuming the skull would fit, would be how to get the horn sheaths off. Damn near need a bath tub sized pot to boil'em in so that's probably out as an option. If this thing goes, I might have to do some thinkin' on THAT little issue. They have...
Give me the dimensions of the head and I'll check to see if that would even fit into the colony. A weight wouldn't hurt either. If it'll fit and won't bust the cage, I'll get back to you.
Welcome!! Be extra careful and watch the local folks for where and how they get around on the ice. I'll take a season or so the get the hang of it, but even long time fishermen are dropping rigs in the water. Good Luck and hope this "Normal" winter doesn't chase you back to Michigan.
We could do that as the colony is in a Plexiglas box you can see right through. With the weather being what it is, we might do that.
Glad you like it Ericb!!
The critters around here seem to be doing JUST fine. Our buckets in the back yard are only getting a half dozen visitors a night and most are fawns. They haven't even bothered with the hay bales. The rest of the deer are out in the alfalfa, corn, and soybean fields doing their thing. The...
Take 4 men and a boy to move it too!! What a BEAST, but I bet that thing will still be functional long after my 4th cabelas grinder is long dead and gone though.
That's old school right there. Doesn't look like stainless steel, so sanitation might be an interesting endeavor with that. Have a 3/4 and a 1/2 horse cabelas grinder that will eat whatever meat you want to feed'em, frozen or thawed, but thanks for the heads up ndwalleyes. I'm always on the...
Had a buddy in College who worked on a migration study for Red Wing Blackbirds. They dusted whole flocks from different locations in the upper midwest with corresponding colored glow powders from aircraft and then went to Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi to find out which birds migrated...
Yep!! We have a layer of that light fluffy stuff. Haven't drilled a single hole yet, but I went pheasant hunting and the ice in the cat tails...SUCKS!! Be safe out there guys. I fell through the ice to many times to count.
Mama KDM is really in charge of this event as she is the Quality Assurance Boss. If it doesn't pass her inspection, my life gets a bit more complicated. Suppose we could have called it a Sausage Preparation Festival, but that's kind of boring if you ask me. Whatever you want to call it, it's...
Not true. They have flown mule deer surveys, moose surveys, and big horn surveys in the past 5 years regardless of snow cover. We didn't have hardly any snow the past two winters and yet those surveys went off without fail. So why not White Tails????
Yep!! Sure did watch'em. Close games and losses appeared to me to be due to shooting themselves in the foot and not due to a better or even equally matched team. However, like I said, not a Bison "Fan" per se, but I do enjoy watching real Bison fans get their panties in a wad.
Not really a Bison "fan" per se, but for a team to keep dominating the league they are in and kicking the snot of of everybody, doesn't improve the program IMO. I know almost nothing about college football and how they do this voodoo magic polling thing, but I'd like to see NDSU have some more...
My best thermos is a Thermos Brand Wide Mouth. Holds a pot of coffee or similar amount of hot soup and keeps it hot longer than I want to be outside. I've set it on the ice and snow while ice fishing in a hub style house and dropped it into ice water while duck hunting and the coffee is...
Fort KDM will again be opening the "Butcher Shop" and smoke house to those that would like to further process those fur covered or feather covered yummies into smoked delights. I have two grinders, a commercial deli slicer for jerky, a few large mixing tubs, and a fairly large smoker available...
Old Man Winter must have put Jack Frost in charge for a couple years while he went on vacation and just read the report. Now he's making up for turning the job over to some second stringer.
