    Ditch Cougars

First of all Davey, I didn't make that comparison....YOU DID. The OP was about an apartment, not a farmstead so where should that piss poor comparison be put????? Second, I know lots of farms that work just fine without these important "tools" known as cats. You're a cat lover I gather, and...

    Ditch Cougars

For me, it's a distance thing. If a cat is 400 yards or more from an occupied residence, it's not a pet. It's a small animal killing machine out on patrol and should be treated as such.

    Ditch Cougars

While in the Navy, feral cat infestations were the cause of ongoing soreness of the hind parts on almost every base we had. Cat lovers would feed them, watch them multiply, and then complain to the Commander when anything was done to limit their numbers when native wildlife was disappearing...

Animals we should start stocking in ND

Wild turkeys knock the snot out of ruffed grouse. They prey on the nests and young chicks of every ground nesting bird and some tree nesting birds as well. Usually when the turkeys roll in the pheasants, grouse, partridge, and quail decline significantly. The wild turkey guys and the quail...

Animals we should start stocking in ND

I think a few hundred thousand of these lithe exotic creatures running around in the wilds of ND could be fun.......

Proposal to Remove Plugs From Boats

All you need to stop a leak in a boat of that magnitude is a postage stamp. Maybe a post it. Or a band aid. Aged Bubble gum perhaps.

Mother Nature can be such a BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, who knows what's up with this critter. It didn't look like her ribs were sticking out as much and her hind end didn't look as sunk in as before, but maybe she just had her hair puffed up. She did move a bit better when this pic was taken and she came back in a couple of times throughout...

    New Fishing Regs. Proposal

This made me laugh!!! I agree with your assessment and I'm only looking at possibilities and maybe I'm just defending the lowly perch because they make me giggle like a maniac when they are bubbling in my fry pan. (Grin)

    New Fishing Regs. Proposal

Large pike and I mean 20-30 lbers have been shown to predate other pike almost as big as they are. In essence all but he largest few fish have to watch out so as not to be eaten. A large pike can and does attack and kill other large pike. It has been shown that they will tear the prey pike in...

    New Fishing Regs. Proposal

I hadn't thought of that little angle!!! I was assuming electronic stuff. Damnit Lycan, stop making me think this early in the morning.

    New Fishing Regs. Proposal

NO problems with me Capt. I just know that when a white bass gets to about 13 inches or so, the biggest predator swimming will have a tough, if not impossible, time eating it. That leaves it to feed and reproduce for the remainder of it's life unhampered by predators. Silver carp, Common...

Mother Nature can be such a BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an update on "Raggedy Ann". She's looking and moving a bit better. Maybe with a steady supply of corn, soybean screenings, and hay, I can get her fattened up. Anyway, she appears to be putting on a bit of weight as of last night.

    New Fishing Regs. Proposal

Don't have any issues with any of those proposals with the exception of white bass. IMO, they shouldn't even be listed as a game fish. Catch and keep as many of those things as you want. They're fun to catch, but I prefer any number of species to these things.

    Pheasants in cold/snow

If my dog is on the ice, I have a shotgun in my hand and not a fishing pole.

    Heaters in ground blinds

I'd be more concerned with that red glow than the sound during those low light conditions that get deer moving.

    Pheasants in cold/snow

If the cold temps make my nose tingle a bit, I don't take Herc out. He's breathing in a bunch more of that cold air and if my nose doesn't like it, I can't imagine what his feels like.

    Unicorn Buck...WTF?

Well, put another check mark in the "I was wrong" column. Looks like the exact same critter. Very Cool Deer!!!

    Ice Fishing Standards?

Same standards for me regardless of water firmness.

    Unicorn Buck...WTF?

bckhntr, mom nature has a way of making an exception to every rule, but to have a perfectly round pedicle that completely covers the top of a deer's head and then to grow an above average spike antler from said pedicle is just a bit far fetched. I would love to see such a deer as I very much...
