    FWIW I don't know much about insecticides and how much harm they do to pollinators but If you spray just before dark when your bees are home after work they should be safe.

    Did the peat help much ? That's the problem we have here too , We got a hard rain after I planted the garden this year and it took forever for the plants to get through it. I seeded sunflowers in the food plots and they are having a hard time breaking the crust too. I might harrow 1/2 of each...

    Lunker, Are there big areas of Black sand or just pockets ? I didn't know we had much of it on the surface around here. I'm guessing the old timers or someone along the line must have checked it out for gold ?

    SDMF s analogy sounds better than mine , Mine was on an older merc that wasn't much of a hot rod so I "sharpened " it back up with a file. It spun fast but would cavitate at WOT.

    Have you checked your throttle linkage to make sure your getting WOT ? Also will a 4 blade prop have more drag from friction than a 3 blade ? My Sea Ray is a mutt , Its I/O merc with a v-8 chev and with 3 or 4 in the boat and full fuel/water tanks it has a hard time getting up on plane...

    GST , Does it work ok on heavy ground ? Or, you flatlanders probably don't have any ? I don't see any No till up here, Must be that if you don't get it worked in the fall it stays wet so long in the spring ?

    Dry as a bone, I'd probably clean it up and use a hacksaw or a file on the threads. Might have to use a couple washers to shim the nut out of the last couple of threads. Gotta use bearing buddies or it's bound to happen when you dunk them under water all the time. There's more than one way...
