    Olympics

While in general I am a huge hater of Geraldo, he did have a plausible explanation as to how the Lochte story got out of control. Lochte called mom and tried to relate to her the events of his most recent evening and he felt the need to say he got robbed. Probably didn't put a lot of details...

Steam Pot done the ND way.

What?!?! These are great ways to enjoy a meal consisting of variety. The taters are already seasoned and buttered, but that doesn't mean you can't add more. And yes, Joe's makes a number of these, the few I've tried were awesome.

Finding Dory was a lot of fun.

    Good tubing lakes

Everything is about an hour. Beaver Bay is a great place to tube/ski. Well protected from unnecessary winds, etc.

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

Yep, they can't resist it. Except for the damn long legged versions I have of the jumping mice. They seem smarter too. Thankfully, this was an ordinary deer mouse.

Well this is going to get interesting

One could also take the pontoon from Beaver Bay campground. Or isn't that running this year? I find this whole thing fascinating on many levels.

243 winchester with 85 TSX for elk?

Just really dumb down some loads for your 7mm for the girl to use as practice. Then before actually going to the field, sight it back in for quality ammo and give her only the good stuff. She won't know until she pulls the trigger, but she'll shoot that one shot she should need just fine...

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

OK, last update (I hope). After battery and stator tested OK, the damn rectifier/regulator would seem like the only possibility, but my tests were inconclusive. Hey, what can I say...electricity isn't my thing. So I took it in to a professional who went through his own check list to come up...

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

Just to help squash any confusion over my poor choice in terminology, a Yamaha boat motor doesn't have an "alternator" as we think of when we look under the hood of our cars. Rather it has a stator, set of magnets, and a voltage rectifier (converts current to DC from AC) and a voltage...

    Musike on Audubon

The NDGF has been putting pure muskies into Audubon starting in 2015 and tigers for a quite few years now. https://gfapps.nd.gov/reports/fisheries/FishStockingMajorWaters.pdf Not sure how difficult it would be for a muskie from the New Johns area to make it up to Audubon.

Ha ha ha. Maybe after the kids go to bed tonight I can go full Carl Spackler on him. If the peanut butter doesn't kill him.

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

Yep, that would be about my darn luck at this point. I've had the most expensive boating season in this boat since the year I first bought it! I'd actually do the fill the boat thing to make the little bassturd show himself, but to fill it above the floor boards would put so much weight on the...

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

Thus far, battery when charged tests good. Pulled it and had it on my shop charger over night and Interstate tested it for me this morning by putting a load on it. 8(?) year old Guest onboard charger = bad. No lights on, measures around 0.5 volts when plugged in. Regulator/Rectifier will...

Fun game for armchair water experts.

http://mobb.usace.army.mil/basin_balancer.swf Perfect for all our resident armchair hydro experts. Kind of fun and time consuming all in one but is mostly intended to show how difficult it is to please everyone with respect to managing the Missouri River and its dams.

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

Oddly enough it does, I think I turned it off several years ago though as it seemed to read too low. I often had readings of 10.6-11.5 volts even with the motor running. Hah, maybe my alternator has been weak for years. - - - Updated - - - My thoughts exactly. The big motor died about 5...

    Dead battery questions from yesterday

Ok, so I went out on the river to tool around with all the recreational crowd in my boat, and maybe do a little fishing. The boat was plugged in so the batteries should have been freshly topped off. After a couple hours of pulling cranks I noticed my older Lowrance LMS 480 was going in and...

    Thats alot of Benjamns

Uncle Sam or the State/city/county law enforcement that confiscate it will get the money now. I'm with Rowdie though, I'd have found a way to pull the plug long before I ran out of a need for insulation in the walls.
