    I'm struggling to see how you are able to punch more holes by adding the clam plate. Would it not take just a very small amount of additional energy to turn another bearing/shaft? - - - Updated - - - That's why I sold mine. Felt like I didn't need something more bulky and 5 more pounds.

    I have chirp, but with limited experience. I didn't get new graphs until closer to the end of open water season. I split the screen between downscan and chirp. A lot of the time, I like what downscan is showing me better. Sorry I'm not more helpful.

    That was my thought too. The gear box add on has 2:1 gear and double the torque. I had a clam plate without the gear box. Sold it off, I might be interested again if the gear box is legit. Otherwise, just more added weight to lug around.

    Who's using a K-drill exclusively for fishing? I'm not using mine for thick ice. That's the gas augers job.
