    Tikkalover, I wouldn't hesitate to do that. Then you can shoot the more expensive stuff for groups. Who knows, the cheaper stuff might surprise you and group really well too.

    Yes. Corrected after incident. It was my fault. The problem occurred on a p-dog town. No life was threatened because for I followed the golden rule: muzzle control. The end.

    Dirty, I've had a few slam fires. None of those came from non-modified triggers. I measure trigger pulls in ounces though, not pounds. - - - Updated - - - I suppose I left bedding out. I must confess that most of mine have not been bedded. Waiting for SDMF to show me the ropes.........

    No 308 for this guy, but the model 700......yes please. They are the only centerfire actions I own. I've yet to own one that hasn't shot. I would steer you toward the cheapest stainless model (your choice between BDL and ADL), restock, retrigger and you'll have yourself a sexy shooter.
