    Triggers

1lb Jewells for me, hunting or target. Also have a Rifle Basix on a rifle which is decent. Probably around 2lbs. Got a new build in the works and trying out my first Trigger Tech. This one adjusts from 1-3. Been so used to my 1lb Jewells I tried shooting a factory Rem 700 300wm and it felt...

    Pork butt injection

I've never injected a butt, although I'm rarely against adding more liquid and flavor to a big piece of meat. I think a finishing sauce is about the most important thing you can "add" to a pork butt cook. Also, I don't like the hard burnt bark like Guy's azteroid turds. I wrap in butcher paper...

    beer and horns

SSGs, aka Soft Shoulder Goldies, aka Miller High Life in a bottle, have sure been tasting wonderful lately. And Hamms (not the Special Light crap) is better than most other mass produced domestics. That said, I believe I've only ever dumped out a couple beers in my life. Ranier, and Lift...

    Sleeping bag

You're a tougher man than I. Pack in a full size feather pillow too? ;) Reminds me of a time when I went over to my old neighbors garage as he was preparing for a CO backpack hunt. Some of the shit he was packing up the mountain was beyond heavy, and in a pack that belonged in a museum (along...

    Sleeping bag

Lots and lots of options nowadays. I think you'd be fine in any 15-20 degree bag for Sept. I have bags from both Western Mountaineering and Big Agnes. Both companies offer models with a little bigger hip and toe box. Not a traditional UL mummy bag. That was a necessity for me. Big Agnes - the...

    Sleeping bag

Maybe I missed it, but is this a backpack hunt or truck camp hunt? Big difference.

    Bha North Dakota chairman

Thanks for the clarification. I see no issues with what you guys did, in regards to the signs. I don't feel one should be able to drive through every draw in the Grasslands.

    gas grill...

Can't really screw up a pork butt (unless it looks like charcoal on the outside, like some pics I saw on here recently) #$%^&> ;) If you like vinegar, I would suggest a finishing sauce to pour over your pork once it's shredded. It's awesome. Here is a simple one I've used quite a few times...

I quite using a foil tent on rare/med rare meat. I've had the carryover cooking kick my ass too many times. Now I usually just rest it uncovered on the counter, or if I want to hold it longer, in my Breville Smart Oven on 120*F warm setting.

No real big issues. My brother and good buddy have one as well. Between the 3 of us, one of our Q1200s has made every hunting/camping trip in the last 12-14 years or so. A lot of food has been cooked on them. The only thing they kind of suck at is if you want to grill raw sausage, fresh brats...

They make a LP and charcoal version in the Go Anywhere. I have the charcoal for home use. I have the gas Q1200 for camping purposes, that runs off the 1lb tanks.

Regarding flavor....when I first got my Yoder I was very dissatisfied with the lack of wood taste. One of the things that led me to Yoder (besides awesome built in USA quality) was the fact many claimed they produce as close to stick burning flavor as you can get in a pellet cooker. Still, I was...

My Dad has that Napoleon grill at his house, and a Weber Summit S-670 at the lake. He always says he likes the Napoleon better, although I don't really know what specifically he likes better about it. It is made in Canada, vs Weber now being made in China, if that matters. I know Napoleon is a...

    New caliber recommendations

I would be curious if the OP intends to hunt bigger game than deer with this rifle? That would make a difference. I have shot two elk with a 6.5mm SLR (ballistically, pretty much a CM ). I have a 300 PRC currently being built now. If bigger game than deer is on the menu for the OP i would do...

Love it. Although I have no recipe. SD seems to be into it as its all over down there. Frohlings in Hecla makes some great pickled sausage. Let me know if you track down a good recipe

    Replacement Bow String

Skip Scheels. They will either sell you Vapor Trail, or if it's a Hoyt, probably the factory Fuse strings. I've tried a few different custom builders, and going forward, as long as they remain in business, Park-n-Sons is who I will exclusively use.

    Blackstone question

I don't cover any of my cookers. Except the Blackstone. I have a hard cover, and now a deluxe soft cover over that. The cheap soft cover didn't last for shit. They rust easy so I had to give in. I too hate covers. I wish the cooktop was SS.

Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) in SW ND

I somehow ended up with a WT doe tag for one of these units. Have not decided what I will do yet. Was going to be out there anyways helping some people with muley tags, and was looking forward to shooting the doe LR.... Don't really need the meat, so I can't use that excuse. Might just eat the...
