Be careful when buying your wife/gf a Xmas gift

My god, what doesn't offend some people anymore. Peloton (stationary bikes) has an ad where a guy buys his wife/gf an exercise bike for Xmas. The next year she comments how great she has felt since she began exercising I guess. Now, Peloton is being accused of being sexist for encouraging his...

2019 Rifle Buck an new Chapter (pic heavy)

Great story, I remember when my boys were that age. Great memories and times. Still have the good times and now they include grandkids. Have no idea how many deer I've shot over the years but I think I could drive you to just about every one I've shot. Funny how some things that are...

    DIY European Mount

Agree with above except I brushed peroxide on with a brush. Took about 3 -4 coats. When I thought all the meat was loose I actually took it to the hi-pressure car wash, made sure the door was shut so I wouldn't look like an idiot. Worked great to get everything out of the cavities and crevasses...

    Buying a new gun..Dilemma

Had the same issue with my 50+ year old Rem 700. Just replaced with a Timney trigger and it's like new, maybe better. Didn't have a grouping problem, just the trigger.

    Snow Bucket 2019 Pt 2

NC part of the state, light drizzle makes it a little icy. Trace of snow. Wind picking up some.

    Black Friday deals

^^^^^^ have never had much luck stuffing with the grinder. I have a 1.5 hp grinder and it's just too fast to stuff. Normally use a 25# stuffer. Started with a 5# stuffer, constantly refilling.

    Black Friday deals

That's a good price depending on how much sausage you make. If you make a lot your stuffer can't be too big. Most of the time spent stuffing sausage seems to me to be the time spent filling the stuffer. Bigger stuffer, less time filling.

    harbor freight generator??

Maybe I'm just not fussy but I've always used ethanol gas in my vehicles, mowers, boats, etc. Don't ever remember having much of an issue. Maybe I''m just lucky or don't realize when somethings not running like it should. If the mower blade turns and grass gets shorter it's good to go. Hope I...

Deer hides - What to do with them

Used to donate them but the group collecting donations has stopped so now they get discarded along with bones in a slough where coyotes will find them. Don't worry, it's land that I own and out of the way where not visible to general public.

    Pellet Grills.....again.

    Have never plugged my Traeger.

    Well go figure~

Not an expert on the Muslim beliefs but I was under the assumption that adultery was a serous offense of a married woman. It's pretty well established that she (Omar) was married for awhile (although under what circumstances is debatable) and then began an extramarital affair with another man on...

    Pellet Grills.....again.

Have nothing to compare my Traeger as it's the only pellet grill I've had. Received it as a gift so didn't do any shopping. Have never had a problem (knock on wood) and it's simple to use. Still use my gas Weber some but for a lot of things the Traeger is my choice. Main reason is the ease of...

    Venison sausage smoking without casing

You would think it would be similar to jerky sticks except with sticks you're actually trying to dry the meat. Don't think dry sausage would be all that appealing. Never know until you try it. As with all new ideas with sausage, recommend a small trial batch.

Here's your chance to be hard

I've been to a few over the past many years. Nice idea that the G&F is out and actually listening. The problem isn't the G&F not listening it's that there is rarely an issue discussed that has a consensus of those in attendance at one region meeting, much less all 8 meetings. They can be fun...

Upland Bird Hunters and Cable Device Users (eg snares) - Another Year!

I think Rick was pretty thorough but a reminder that an actual cable cutter is not the same as a wire cutter. When buying make sure you buy an actual cable cutter. Can't exactly tell you the difference but there is a difference.

    name this critter~

Pine marten, not uncommon in the Turtle Mts.

Upland Bird Hunters and Cable Device Users (eg snares) - Another Year!

Good advice that may save your dog. My son snares coyotes and he assures me that a cable cutter is effective. He carries one with him whether snaring or hunting. The good thing with most dogs is they are somewhat trained to not pull on the snare. Treat it like a leash. If your dog is snared you...

What is this pack or re-pack of which you speak? 2nd question, how do you know if you even have bearings?

    Tesla Cybertruck

Pretty impressive in the ad. Of the few people I have known who tried electric cars in ND their experience wasn't very good. Main problem is the relatively short distance they can drive in a rural state. That and the battery life was even shorter in the winter. I suppose batteries will improve...

    Booby traps in corn field

I'm not sure most of the GMO protestors even have a clue that a log chain would do damage. I'm more in line that they heard sometime in their life the GMO plants were dangerous. All the while they were eating seedless grapes or cucumbers. They most likely also have a real taste for seedless...
