    Our Neighbors to the East

Pretty poor response to the endless illegal activities that have gone on there over the last couple days. I'm all for the right to protest but once idiots turn to looting and destruction of property, the hammer needed to come down. At least a bunch of bean bag rounds out of a shotgun....but...

    DIY Menards Steel Gutters?

$1000 for 72' of gutter and 2-4 downspouts? That is asinine. Should be half of that at most for aluminum, steel a touch more. Lots of companies out there do seamless steel gutters. You can certainly get them to seal if you do a good job yourself. Just a challenge to hang the long...

    Trolling with Spoons

I am going to give the Michigan Stinger spoons a try later in the summer. I fish a lake that gets shad loaded and the fish become very pelagic. Tadpoles and planer boards will be the method. We'll see.

    No More Evinrude

Hopefully the "repurposing" of the facility in Wisconsin will alleviate job losses. And they're still supporting parts, for how long who knows. I'm sure in the near term the effect will be significant on the workforce as any "repurposing" will be a long process. Hopefully Mercury can pick...

    No More Evinrude

Yamaha and Mercury rule the water anymore. I haven't seen a new Etec powered boat in several years. And the resale.....yikes! They say they will provide parts but I can't imagine the cost as the inventory runs thin!

Uncut grass and not spraying weeds

I get it on the lawn thing. It is extremely frustrating to simply try to keep a decent yard and watch 4000 dandelions upwind of you go to seed. I don't keep a golf course lawn and don't love mowing. But I do think it looks nice and is a point of pride. It is not different that the someone...

    Siding & Window recommendations

It is funny how siding types are so regionally specific. I had a customer move down from Bismarck and all he could do was talk about steel siding. We put Smartside in and he was shocked at how much better it looked and how much more sealed it was from the elements. Other than roofing, siding...

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine did the same thing, even when they had been hardened outside for the week. Not the first time, they usually bounce back in a couple days. I don't do a huge garden and I surely end up ahead $$$ wise. Heck just on spinach & salad stuff alone I come out ahead compared to buying it. But...

    Ahmaud Arbery.... MURDER?

I don't know that it was, nor was I trying to say one way or another. I hope it wasn't. It's just easy to judge from here and I felt like there were a lot of inferences to that without a lot of understanding of BOTH sides of it. Unfortunately we never get the "real" story on these things...

    Electronic Posting

What platform are they going to use for this? ArcGIS maybe integrated into their own site? I have questions on how landowners will be "trained" to enter their land. Introducing them to this technology will be a challenge. Will the posting be an all season deal? Or can they turn it on/off...

    Ahmaud Arbery.... MURDER?

The other thing I'd add is we have no idea the biases of either the two guys who confronted him OR the man who was shot. We're sitting here talking about this with a Dakota's "white" perspective. Maybe the guy who was shot has had unfair run-ins in the past and maybe the guy who shot him has...

    Shop/man cave project

I would use rebar no matter what. I don't feel that fiber does anything close to what rebar does. I think there are applications for it but it does not replace rebar in it. I also agree with the finishing aspect, it makes it more difficult and is visible. Assuming you are burning the floor...

So I went and did it

Gotta be Larry Enticer's cousin or brother LOL! The old saying is right though, have you ever seen anyone not having fun on a jet ski? Except Jay-Z LOL!

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You poor northerners! Onion sets are growing well here, 6" tall already. Greens I got planted late but they are coming along nicely. If the weather cleans up end of the week everything will go into the ground. We had a dusting of snow yesterday and flakes today with snow/rain forecasted for...

    Muck Boots equivalent

The Alpha's are nice, similar to Muck in that you have a tighter ankle fit. The durability is better than the Mucks (neoprene to rubber area) and the fit is better. But in all honesty, the old Burly boots work really well for me. I've had both the Alpha and Burly. I will be buying Burly's...

    Muck Boots equivalent

Agree on the Lacrosse boots. I wear them in construction and they are by far the most comfortable I have found. And significantly more durable than the Muck brand as well. I can't say I'd hike 10 miles in mine, but I can comfortably spend a day on a jobsite with them.

    New merc 450.

In all seriousness, what kind of performance gains are there from say a 300? We're talking a 50% HP increase but from what I see a maybe 10% increase in top speed? With a 50% increase in fuel burn? I'm just trying to figure out what is the point, other than the obvious that you have the money...

    The last dance

The standout part of it was the Bulls played as a TEAM. Yeah, they had some serious talent, but everyone was part of it and played significant roles. Pippen was a force, the guys like Paxton and Grant contributed. Heck even Rodman was a beast and the defining factor in some of those games...

Best places to fly fish in ND

Another fly I've used for walleyes is the Kreelix streamer. Deadly. And yes, carp flies and fishing is like fishing rising trout on a super pressured river. A challenge but fun!

    Flex seal for aluminum boat

Gluvit is the answer, along with tightening rivets. No matter what you do, it's gotta be prepped incredibly well.
