    I tend to disagree with this. I have used it in smaller creeks by hugging one side and scanning off to the other in as shallow as 3-4 feet and were able to see big pike and packs of suckers quite well.

    With limited fishing time, it all becomes a game of efficiency. I like to go early in the morning now days and be back to the family by early afternoon with the fish cleaned.

    If you are fishing 30 feet or more, you should keep the ones you catch. Shallow fish released right away are probably going to be fine(if not deep hooked).
