    Mission Accomplished Sir!!!!

Thank you for my freedom KDM. God bless. As for all this free time guys are talking about -----evidently they are single. You have always appeared as a wise man to me, so I assume you have already negotiated some free time for yourself with the commander. :D

    Landowner issues

You could nail a game warden doing that. ;:;popcorn I know guys in Stutsman county that have fenced gravel roads. Arrogance has few limits. Put padlocks on the gates too. Through roads, not dead end. The family is famous for it's attitude of self importance.

    Rattlesnake Roundup

My wife has at last become accustomed to me jumping out of the truck and going after rattlesnakes. I got a nice one in Arizona that spanned my tire tracks To bad I got a little to enthusiastic and tore up his skin with a rock. Biggest rattler to date and I messed it up. He sure was not...

Is there a best time to buy a new shotgun?

I suppose I have told this story before. I have bought a few guns from Scheels, but I had fun with a salesman in Fargo Scheels many years ago when the 300WSM just came out. I went in and asked for one. The salesman asked "what do you want it for". Those of us who frequent sporting goods...

For my hunting area in Colorado I ordered the 3D plastid maps from U S Geological Survey in Denver.

    Fisher far from home.

Up in the upper wooded reaches of the Sheyenne River they are more common. You can trap one per year and my brother and his boys have done well. My brother did a full body mount on his. Don't plan on your cats lasting long with a fisher around. Up in the Pembina hills I don't think farmers...

    Do-it-yourselfers strike again

On the concrete yes, but it was only $200 cheaper ($5200) and I had the guy before. The next spring Lux concrete did a fantastic job. The guy who did the addition was working next door and they liked him. He said since he was right next door he could start ours. The first clue was when he...

Headed to the Black Hills end of May

When I worked with The Great Plains grasslands back in the 1970's I think I may have walked a couple hundred miles in that area. Nice, but nothing different than prairie in many other areas.

    Do-it-yourselfers strike again

No it didn't, but I don't think GST would do a bad job. We agree on many things, it's just that he is destructive when one does not agree. I don't know what kind of fantasy world he lives in where everyone agrees, and anyone who doesn't agree 100% is the enemy. I know better than to say this...

    Do-it-yourselfers strike again

Many times when we have built or added on I have had to take contractors to work. When I was still working I paid a contractor for a concrete pad for a new detached garage. I paid for 5 inches thick and an extra bag of concrete. Also rebar between garage and driveway pad so I could lay brick...

    The beast~

Or it's the first confirmed one. People think they see Whooping Cranes all the time. Not.. When it comes to animal identification there is a lot of really screwy people out there. They can't simply take peoples word for it. When a fellow who worked for me called in two Whooping Cranes at...

    Mother Nature

Is that still part of what they call the Mogollon Rim, or are you west of that. West I guess. I like that transition at Payson. Prescott is nice, and I forget the name of the sport shop, but they had cheap ammo.

    Scope

If you have a rock to duck behind do that, but if someone scopes you in the open you do consider self defence. I have had bullets close enough to hear them crack. I don't know how close that is.

    Scope

Yup. I think my grand daughter was 11 when she was consistent on eight inches at 800 yards with my Creedmoor and a 4X16 Vortex PST minute of angle reticle. I have a 6X24 but I think the best all around scope is a 4X16. Scope, Crown, and Trigger = hits.

    Handlaoding

Right now my room is a mess. I have been reloading, but not organizing or cleaning. My wife had spinal fusion so I am busy cooking and house cleaning and reloading, but not cleaning my room. I have a portable stand for my Rockchucker, and lubrisizer. It's sort of like sitting down in an...

    Range finder help..

I first went through about five or six Bushnell, then two Leica, then a Swarovski that I still have and now a Sig 2000. The optics are so good in the Swarovski that I often don't carry my binocs. The only thing the Swarovski doesn't have is angle compensation. It will shoot to 1999 yards on...

    Leupold CDS

600 yards you could do for under $200. The Nikon Prostaff that I use works great with Strelok+. You can use the bullet drop, or dial in with the turrets.

    Leupold CDS

I have a couple of old Leupold tactical scopes that are very good. Since the mid 1990's I have had trouble. The last one run me $1299 and I worked and worked on my 300 mag to get a good group. One day I put an old 1977 Bushnell 3X9 Sportview on it and cut my group in half. I sent the scope...
