    Remington 700 problem

With 5R rifling you have a wonderful rifle. You can find directions on line to adjust the trigger. Many of mine are 1.5 pounds. No take up and no travel. Firing pin drops and you feel like your against the wall at the same time. You feel no trigger movement. Adjust the trigger and that...

    Remington 700 problem

Tried it and don't like it. I will maybe have to buy a front sight smoker. They do have a strong action that is easy to work, and rifles like the Sendero have nice stock. If you can find an older rifle they had a great trigger.

    Long Range Shooting School

My hunting buddy took first place in law enforcement sniper competition. One guy was on secret service presidential detail for a year, and another took national two years. They were shooting Robars made in Phoenix, Arizona, and American optics scopes. Know what he beat them with? A Savage...

    Remington 700 problem

I had one like that 15 years ago. Evidently the chamber reamer at the factory was chipiped and it left a ring that was so bad it cut the brass in half. I had a Mosberg that I polished. A new rifle I would not gamble with doing myself and letting Remington off the hook for warranty. Send it...

First focal plane or Second focal plane?

Actually the 300 mag with higher velocity was the most destructive. It looked like a person shot into mud, but when we went and looked we found pieces. The two large calibers didn't look anymore destructive maybe not as destructive as a 223. I gave up shooting them with a round ball in my...

First focal plane or Second focal plane?

Bed Wetter I don't see the reticle very good on 4x either. However keep in mind that no matter how course they look they still only subtend .21 inches on the EBR-MOA, and .10 inch in the EBR-2C. That's 2.1 inch and 1 inch at 1000 yards. The EBR-2C has a .25 inch gap in the center. On 24x you...

First focal plane or Second focal plane?

All four of my ffp are Vortex PST. I have never used the reticle light up. I wanted the EBR MOA with numbered minutes of angle on the 4 to 16 power, and the EBR-2C on the 6 to 24 power. I really like the minute of angle EBR-2C

First focal plane or Second focal plane?

They both have their advantages. I think I have four first focal plane and maybe two dozen second focal plane. On my AR in 223 I like the second focal plane used with Strelok+. The reticle is bullet drop and I can change the yardage by changing the power setting. I wanted a new lightweight...

    High Standard

SDMF my brother has a slab sided High Standard that looks just like that. It was made for only a couple years. I believe it was called the Victor. We both bought our High Standards in 1972. I still had the box and all the paper work when I traded mine at a gun show in 1986. The guy was a...

    High Standard

I had the High Standard Trophy. It was more accurate than most of my 22 rifles. Now I have one of the lightweight threaded barrel Rugers. I also had the Ruger Mark IV Target. All good.

    Trespass Bill

Those low life in Bismarck operate just like DC. We need a governor that is like Trump. This crap is clear evidence of the disaster we would have if the feds turned over public land.

I was out night lighting ducks at night to put radios on them. I was using a surplus airboat used as a gun boat in Vietnam. The hull was a foot thick and it had a 300 horse Lykomen engine. Heavy, heavy, heavy, and I made the mistake of slowing down on a 1/4 mile wide mud flat. One time...

Question of Devils Lake elevation pits farming versus fishing

Well if you consider my cousins field, right along channel A, blowing away in the wind while the lake floods it makes you scratch your head. This lake has been much higher before any drainage occurred. However what we consider high water in realits is nothing compared to high precipitation...

Question of Devils Lake elevation pits farming versus fishing

Yes out where East Devils Lake is you would have to drill for water in 1957. There were a number of gas station, even a Dairy Queen type store on the west side of the highway in 1957. My old brain can't remember right now the name of the old fellow who had a store where the casino is now. In...

My middle son moved to Montana for the hunting. He couldn't decide which to buy first, a house, a new car, a jet boat, lion hounds, a 4x4 side by side, or horses. He gave up making that tough decision and bought them all the first year. He helped me on that bear I shot last fall. I already...

Question of Devils Lake elevation pits farming versus fishing

I drove the road from Minnewaukan to Grahams Island most of the time. Actually when I started going out there you could not see water from that road. Then it flooded and everyone trolled along it and called it "The Golden Highway". Do you mean Devils Lake is it's own watershed? It is until...
